Fear of what it involves and requires. Yes, God equals Love. He is the definition of Love.

The biggest mistake I find is that people think religion and faith are the same thing. They're not. Religion is a set of rules mainly by religions like Catholic church and other denominations. I grew up in a Catholic rules household. You spend a lifetime learning the rules of the church and never hearing about God and Jesus and what real love is and what they truly stand for. I discovered what real faith is after I left home. These days I know what to listen to as a christian and what is just a bunch of rules and just someones ideas. Try looking into living by faith and grace yourself rather than what is dictated to you. I'm not even going to try and convince you of anything when it comes to the bible or the wisdom within it. Do your own research, God is a name for the creator, and yes at some things I bet he's not impressed. Its good to question things and question why you believe at times, how else can you develop your own faith and views from what you have been taught over the years. I did exactly the same thing at 19! I rejected it all questioned and said the same things you have posted here and found god years later and understood finally what the Crucifixion was really about, once the layers were stripped back I discovered a great deal. You're not unworthy...or undeserving, Christ didn't make statements like that at all, some churches might say silly things like that but then they should try reading the new testament occasionally. And he existed wether you believe he was the son of god or not. Ancient Roman history even gives him a mention. A good book to read is "The Shack" William P Young. Interesting concept and even talks about a few of the things you covered in a way I understood without being preachy. Its a fiction novel not a boring factual book. And wanna talk about Philosophy.....

I do not fear love and I do not believe in God. I can have one without the other and live a very happy full life. By way of history I would not say that God literally equals love because more deaths have been caused by the believe in god then not. If god equaled love then people who supposedly love god and accept his love would not kill others.

The interpretation of fear in the Bible has always had some dispute as to the true meaning of it as commonly accepted.
It is said that the word fear should read love.....for the love of God, if you love God, do all with love, etc. Therefore it is my reasoning that I do not fear God....for in fearing implies that God is something other than Love.
Both God and Love are interchangeable words and fear is as my studies show....love, loving and loved. You can do this yourself. Pick out any Psalms and substitute the word fear with love.

I don't fear love. Love is a necessity. I could not live without love. So i don't see why love should be feared in the first place. Love makes the world go round as the famous saying goes. Love live with me always.
I do believe that God is love and love is God.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

I don't fear Love, what I fear is the absence of it or the miscomprehension of its full and real meaning!
God doesn't equal Love. God IS Love!
Like you cannot equal yourself. You ARE You!

a biblical fear of God, for the believer, includes understanding how much God hates sin, and fearing his judgment on sin – even in the life of a believer. hebrews 12:5-11 describes God’s discipline of the believer. while it is done in love, it is still a fearful thing. as children, the fear of discipline from our parents prevented, hopefully, some evil actions. the same should be true in our relationship with God. we should fear his discipline, and therefore, seek to live our lives in such a way that pleases him

You must understand that the word translated FEAR is not the FEAR we know. It means respect, honor, believe, understand, follow.. It does not mean Hide in the closet shivering. It is not the same. SO no, I do NOT fear God. I do however, do the rest. He does not want us to run and hide from him. He seeks us out and wants to be with us. He says to boldly seek him..
Next, God is the only definition of unconditional Love.. He loves us no matter how horrible we are..
Peace and God bless from Texas. <><

first, I don't fear love. I fear connection. The reason is simply because people are not perfect and even the most loving person will have the capacity to injure you deeply when you have connected with them.
second, Love is one of many defining attributes of GOD. thus as quoted "he who does not know love does not know God. for God is love". It references the importance of this particular attribute when we look for the evidence of God in the lives of those around us. It does not conclude that one who loves therefor knows GOD, for I am sure that Athiests still love their children. But it clearly indicates that those driven by hate, self interest and greed are not of God, nor is he with them.
