I got my first digital alarm clock/radio (Soundesign brand)back in 1989 when I was 16, it still works good. Do you think I should replace it just to be more up to date or should I keep it and enjoy its 80s colors? lol
(It has has mint green and pink letters/ numbers/buttons, and a 'grid' style background)

That's funny....I have the same exact one, and it still works, too. I think of "Miami Vice" when I look at it. I would hate to ever have it quit. I think it was only $7 back then. It has never let me down.

I'm sorry that I've to say yes to your question. My clock/radio until last week was 20 years old. It's a German made by Grundig. It was a high precision radio/clock on earth without any functional problem for life. But now I've got a gift from my best friend anew radio/clock made by Sony. It's just super. When I knew that the technology has been changing so much during the last 20 years, I might replace it long time ago.

i think better keep it as it still works good. that clock will be an antique stuff and give different 'color' to your room.
