The arsenals of the US and Russia are enough to destroy a million Hiroshimas. But this has been hanging over the world's head for the last 60 years, so why worry about it now? We still have 7 minutes to midnite before we can REALLY start worrying....

Basically, balance of powers. One person aims their missiles at us, they know we have ten times as many missiles to send back. We probably have enough to wipe out most of the important countries throughout the world.

Also, when thinking about Iran specifically, keep in mind the situation they are in. There are two territories on each side of their borders they have to worry about: Iraq and Afghanistan.

For years, Iran has had to worry about the fact that Iraq posed a threat, or just they were not a friendly nation, especially under the rule of Saddam. However, now that he has been removed, they have to worry about someone else: the American troops. Any attempt to attack America means an invasion from two sides, both from Iraq and Afghanistan. Pressure, no?

Either way, no country will ever attempt to send nuclear missiles at us, because they know we'll send plenty right back. Just think about North Korea, and Russia especially during the Cold War. Same situation then.

only if you stress over the impossible. russia, the u.s., and china are the only contries with icbms. and a little ol' nuclear dirty bomb aint no big deal. and the terrorists aint even close to that.

well if you are concerned about pakistan and india, they got nukes a delivery system to hit each other, BUT that would be population control....not an issue at all.....

and then of course the jews could wipe out the entire middle east, but the arabs know that so they wont force it....

SO, don't sweat it! it's just not an issue at this time.

you have to understand the technology. what the u.s. did to the japs in the 40's is still a mind boggling thing to most a these fools. it's a very hard thing to create a fusion reaction; and you have to have fusion to create fission. not only that but how are you going to deliver this big ol' bomb? that's why you need missles. most countries are dumber about missles that they are nuclear reactions. the three countries that have icbm's and nukes are very level headed and have a huge stake in NOT USING THEM. nobody wants the end of the world!

did ya'll know the u.s. actually has small clean tactical nukes that can be fired from a cannon? i would assume russia and china has them too. but that's awesome! just a small nuke you can launch from a cannon. go to u tube and put in nuclear cannon, you can watch one.

If you like worrying about things you can't control, sure!

With North Korea selling nuclear technology to Syria and Iran...yeah, you should worry! Of course, we will soon be reverting back to an appeasement policy which will stop all the nuclear ambitions of small angry countries! Yay!

My biggest worry would be that some sort of terrorist group builds a nuclear weapon using Russian technology in a country like Iran. Then this group will use this device against Israel. Perhaps they'll blow up Jerusalem.

Of course Israel will retaliate probably by nuking Tehran. Since Russia and Iran are pretty much allies you can bet they'll eventually be global nuclear repercussions.

I think nuclear war is nothing to worry about. But what we have to worry about is the potential of man's mind to unleashed the nuclear war because of his/her greediness to acquire wealth and power.

It is just a matter of time and technology before the "briefcase bomb" is invented that will be able to vaporize an entire city, or a superplague is developed that falls into the wrong hands. The human race has a long and bloody history of abusing technology in the name of power, I doubt the future generations will be different.

No. Worrying about such a thing would indicate the person needs to spend some time with a mental health professional.

no. if they is a nuclear war you wont be able to do much about it most of the world will be gone anyway. it is probably likely because of the way the US has used its military power to bully other smaller countries.
