1 child is generally 20% to 25% of your check.
2 children is generally 25%-30% of your check.
3 or more children is generally 30-35% of your check.
Plus health insurance. Plus splitting the difference on the bills that insurance doesn't pay.
Plus any back child support you owe.
Plus any spousal support if your state does that.
Plus any other things thrown in there by the judge that you were deemed responsible for such as half the day care costs, tuition for school, etc.

My ex made $52,000.00 a year 9 years ago when we divorced. We have 4 children that reside with me and he pays $300.00 a week. I have never asked for an increase and did not request alimony although I did not work at the time. We live in Illinois.
(FYI our grocery bill is 200.00 a week! Raising children is expensive.)

Nevada- my husband has primary custody of his son. His ex-wife's pay is being garnished for 350 per month. she makes about 14-15 per hour and was actually ordered to pay 425 according to the calculations based on her pay (crazy, right?)- because he makes so much more than she does- the judge actually got soft on her and lowered it to the 350 i mentioned before.
