Because that is the simple thing of saying you can't do something and some people feel they will do it regardless of being told not to. I personally do it, because I feel that even though a woman or a man is asking a question of a certain sex, the opposite sex can usually add more insight in their answer than some of the drab and similar answers that the choosen sex would provide. I know I have answered quite a few questions from women that said guys only, and I have gotten best answer for it. Because I provide what I think is the possible answer and what some of my male friends views are. Usually it helps to have the two perspectives there. And so gives a well rounded answer instead of just one side of things.

How do you know that someone from the opposite gender answers? The Yahoo! Avatar may be fake. I may be a man with a female Avatar.

Just chill out dude. Now I am wondering what your real gender could be!

Curiosity!

When it says 'guys only', I naturally want to know what's going on. What are the secrets of the opposite sex and all that.

Besides, we're all here because we enjoy giving our opinion to others.

Because it's stupid to post on a public board who you want answering the question. This is a public board. If you want only girls or only guys, then go ask on a board that fits what you want to hear.

HA. nice title, very fitting. umm, i don't really know. i don't really think there are any boundaries on Yahoo!Answers. maybe they like annoying the person who posted the question, think they have good advice/insight, want to gain points or don't think the rules apply to them. who really knows. whatever. the more advice, the more useful so no biggie.

Because there is too much prejudice in this world as is, and we are sick of being singled out.

Because people have a strong desire to voice their opinions, an even stronger desire to have their opinions be heard.
