Why do so many people believe that we are going to heaven after death when the Bible clearly states at Psalms 37: 29 ' The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it'

As you can see from the Hebrew in Strongs, that we are talking about a duration, and advancing to that point, and terminus or end of a tramsportation point, that is finally arriving at [not forever].
Translations are not easy and that's why we are given the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things not scripture. The righteous will possess the earth, there will be a 1,000 year millennium, but eventually we will be taken to heaven.
We the righteous will be with Jesus when we die, and He is in heaven:2 Cor 5:8
8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
NKJV

When ever the saints die they are spoken of as sleeping, but when those that don't know Jesus die, they are spoken of as dead.

Dear,

They do not know the procedures of going to Heaven.

Heaven is not a free passage. Each and everybody must earn and work hard to be in Heaven.

This earth is a working ground for Heaven. Work hard for Heaven. The world is a transit to Heaven. The time taken is only from mature to death. It is just like "Yes" or "No".
Work hard go to Heaven. Not working go to Hell. How does it work?. How to be in Heaven?.

God created religion. The Most beautiful and complete religion will lead the followers to Heaven. The religion is none other than "ISLAM".

Our spirit/soul goes to Heaven at the point of death. Upon the last day God will create a NEW Heaven and a NEW earth. Our renewed, perfect physical (physical likeness) body will then be rejoined to our spirit/soul.

People believe whatever their preachers and parents tell them to believe, and in the modern day, the idea of heaven is in vogue.

You taking one line out of context and saying that it over rules the other hundred or so references to heaven.

Your interpreting this verse in a subjective point of view. That is blasphemy.
