I need to re-paint my room and I have NO idea what to do it in. I am moving out with in the next year anyways (hopefully within 6 months) and this room will become a guest room, so it would have to be a pretty neutral color (I was thinking a beige or off-white color) because then I would have more freedom with what bedding and accessories I use. My room is small so it cant be a dark color and I dont want it to be really just... blah. Any suggestions.

Paint the walls a flat terrcota, white flat ceiling and white glossy doors. Add some crown moulding painted bright gloss white. Moulding is very inexpensive and just makes the room like terrific.

Sounds like you have the right idea. I always get several paint swatches from Lowes or Wal mart and take them home to pick a new color. Even something as simple sounding as off white can have either red, yellow, green, peach, brown or blue undertones. Look in your color group to find the right one and then spice up your room with bedding, art etc.

I would suggest a very light green, like "sprout" by sherwin williams. It's a bit more interesting than plain white or beige, but still light & neutral enough that myriad colors & decorating themes would coordinate well with it.
