I'm overweight and I hate it. I need to lose about 65LBS to be around where I think I'll look good. (The upper of my weight class.. 160) (I'm 5'7) anyways.. what are some good exercises for me to do?
I currently don't go to the gym (although I have a membership) because i have NO stamina and I go and within minutes I am tired and I used a lot of gas to get there. lol, so I want to do things that don't involve the gym until I can gain stamina.
My boyfriend wants me to get healthy and is a GREAT support system and said he will help with anything needed, or if I want him to exercise with me, so that's not a problem at all.
I just need ideas on what to do. I don't have much money to buy anything, but I just need some ideas.

I know walking, but how much walking?
Anything else besides walking so I can walk and do something else or change it up a bit?
I'm 20 by the way..
how long will it take me to lose about 60-70lbs?

Walking is always great. Try to go for half an hour at a time, a few times a week. Just push through it, your body will get used to it quicker than you think.
I'd go buy some light dumbells, (somewhere between 2 and 8 lbs.) and do some arm exercises, and also make sure you're doing pushups (even if you have to do that wimpy ones :) I can bench 100 pounds and workout 5 days a week, and I still do the whimpy ones) and crunches. Go buy one of those exercise balls and do crunches on those, it will target your abs better and put less pressure on your back and neck.

The most important thing to do is cardio and eat right. Try to stay away from any drink containing high fructose corn syrup, and do not drink diet drinks, as sucralose and aspartame have been shown to increase appetite and cause cancer. If you like fruit juices, make sure you are buying 100% fruit juice.

Another great thing to do with eating is to have 5 small meals instead of 3 large ones. It'll keep your metabolism running all day. Make sure you're getting enough protein, but not too much, because you're body can only use so much. And make sure most of your protein is coming from white meat and nuts/beans. You should only have red meat once or twice a week. Keep in mind a serving of food is about the size of your fist.

Also keep in mind that healthy food does not have to be gross. I eat very healthy and love the food I cook. Make sure your food is colorful, get some reds and oranges as well as greens and browns, etc. All those colors suggest different nutrients. Teas are great drinks. Make them by the quart, put a little bit of sugar or honey (not too much) in it to make it taste a bit better.

Also, as for how long it should take you to lost 60-70 pounds - if you are losing weight in a healthy and effective way you should not lose more than 2 pounds a week. Your 50000x more likely to keep it off. If you lose more in the first week, don't worry, that is water weight. So expect a good 8 months to lose the weight entirely - you'll start liking the way you look in the mirror long before that. DO NOT GET FRUSTRATED. It is sooo worth it. I used to be overweight, I am still not down to being "thin" but I look good and I am healthy.

If you have a sweet tooth, tell yourself you can have your favorite dessert on Sunday if you've completed all your goals for the week (goals help a LOT). And if you're craving something sweet in the middle of the week but don't want to ruin your goals, make a fruit smoothie. Throw some frozen fruit and 100% fruit juice in a smoothie with a bit of vanilla extract and ice - it tastes great and is much better than the vast majority of other desserts.

Try www.freetrainers.com

It will give you workouts to do based on your profile that slowly increase each week. You can set the program up to be a home program. Also it will tell you diet guidelines. It's what I use.

Remember there is no such thing as a quick-fix unless you are ready to go under the scapel. Healthy weight loss to lose 60 lbs can be achieved in a year. You'd have to lose just over a lb a week. That may seem like slow progress but 60 lbs in 1 year would be amazing. You could lose faster, but I don't recommend any more than 2 1/2 lbs a week. If you get too high your messing with your metabolism and certain diet tweaks could slow it down.

I'd start with walking, like you said. Go as far as your comfortable with and elevate your heart rate. You should be breathing hard, but still able to talk casually without gasping for air. As long as your walking, when you have free time at home stretch--a lot. After a couple weeks, start jogging.

I try to run a lot. The fastest way to make your legs stronger and able to endure runs easier is hill training. I would wait at least a month into your jogging regime before doing that. By then you could probably be comfortable back at the gym. You can adjust the treadmil to incline and decline, or some have the option of setting a track.

She is very lucky to have a stepmother like you! And you are doing the right thing. She is going to have a rough time if she continues to gain weight, and it's not good for her health. Plain old walking is wonderful exercise for everyone in the family! Get her to take walks with you and her Dad after dinner. If the stores are close enough, maybe you could walk there once and awhile as well. Since it will be summer when she visits, swimming will also be a wonderful exercise. Also, you could set up a badminton net in your yard, and have some badminton matches......you play her, she plays Dad, and the two winners play each other. But of course, it's also necessary for her to cut back on food a bit to lose some weight. Don't deprive her of "treats" entirely, but try to serve overall healthy meals. Fortunately, there will be lots of great salad veggies available in the summer, and you can grill chicken as well. Once and awhile, though, take her for an ice cream. That won't kill her, and she'll feel like she's not being deprived. Even if she only loses five pounds over the summer, she will look and feel better when she goes back to school. And she will grow into her weight eventually!

well what you could do is bike or walk to the gym. So that you don't waste gas. (and if you don't use your membership your wasting your money) Anyways if your tired in the gym take a 5 min brake then you could go back. And when your excersicing don't be to fast. Take it slow. Don't star going in the tridmill with the speed of 25 mph start with a walk than a jogg and carry on. And a excersice thing that will help you lose a lot of weight is a jumprope. I started doing jumprope and I'm losing weight. So I hoped that help... Just watch your diet and Good Luck (P.S. drink A LOT of water)

Start cutting out white foods. sugars soda breads that arent nutty and grainy. Very minimal servings of rice or potatoes.. Pile on the veggies and fiber and meat. If you have a sweet tooth try a fruity yogurt.. I mix in some baking cocoa powder and coffee crystals to raspberry and freeze it and it tastes like starbucks raspberry mochachios to me. Yum.
Incorporate more dairy into your life skim milk/2% REALLY does a body good.
Eat more often and small meals to keep the metabolism up.
Snack on fruit.

Drink ALOT of water at least 8 glasses a day.

Start doing pushups.. you may only be able to do one. In that case lay on the ground and get up with your arms about twenty times until you can handle a real pushup on your knees.
Look on youtube for exercises people post them ALL over.
Start trying squats and lunges.
Put on music and dance.
Put on some classical and be a ballerina like your a six yr old dancing on your tippy toes. It kills the legs makes them hot or put on some high heels and try your hand at salsa or fake salsa.. Try bellydancing it makes the core HOT
Lay on the ground and do the pilates roll up. You put your hands over your head breathe in and roll up as you breathe out, touch your toes and slowly vertebra by vertebra roll off til your head hits the floor.
If that isnt challenge enough for you try shadow boxing and just hit the air imagining someone is there.
Don't forget to do yoga or pilates and breathe and stretch for stress relief. And most importantly speak life on your body
":I am fit I am slender I am beautiful yada yada" Words have a tremendous amount of power on us.
