This is my first year taking photography. I'm a freshman and I would like to know if anybody thinks I'm any good at photography or what I need to work on. These pictures are all night pictures.

Thanks ans yeah I am in a Photography I class which is a beginner class. I just wanted someone to see my pictures to let me know if photography can be my thing. Also, I wish I could make them color but in my h.s we only develop black and white images. So sorry if the black and white sucks.

You have alot of potential and it seems like you would do a great job once you learn all the right techniques. I just dont understand how they kind of all look alike, do they have to be that way? You could take shots of many many things..and still being at night. I am glad that you put alto of effort into something you really like after-all that is what matters, to do what you have passion for because this way you are going to put your best in it and eventually it will pay up.....I am also proud to see a Latino trying to make a great photographer....great job and keep it up!!!

You're doing fine, but just making all your pictures black and white isn't too creative or original. Just constructive criticism. Do they have a photography class at your HS?

your pictures are good but need improving the best way i find to improve my pictures is to find the most interesting subject in an area, then take the picture from a new perspective something nobody would expect... try new angles, it doesnt always have to be up or down they can be at all kinds of angles. last piece of advice is to submit your pictures to deviantart.com where people can critique then and let you know how your doing.

It's not that you are a good photographer, it's that you need to find more interesting things to photograph.
The blurred car lights are done. The others of the street corners and the other of the cement railing were better, but you need to find some better angles.
Overall, I think you did good, but always try to photograph somehting original. Try new angles and lighthing.

Some of them are really good. Others are just OK. For your age I am impressed. You might really benefit from taking some classes to improve your skills. In the picture of the shoes it seems slightly out of focus. In a few other pics it is difficult to really understand the focus of the picture.

they are ordinary, however so was my stuff at school, i rely on my strong technique, the art side im somewhat lacking
if you get your assignments on time and keep up with the play, once you have the technique you can develop the art side more
a fotog with great artistic skills but poor technique will never be able to achieve great results, they can both be learnt, some get one part before the other
life experience and studing art will help alot,
check out what can be done with strong technique and little artistic flair::

You have the beginnings of a good eye. I assume these are scans of prints, therefore the saturation is not great. Let your blacks be black and your whites, white. A bit of tweaking in Photoshop will greatly improve these scans.
Don't stop now!
