find a group of friends to go with, or ask someone from a different school.
in four years this won't mean anything.

I went to my 9th grade banquet with a date. A boy from my math class if I remember correctly. I thought he was the greatest. We showed up, he ditched me, hung out with his friends all night long, danced one dance with me, then ignored me some more. I had all of these fantastic expectations about the night in mind, and none of them happened. I was so disappointed. I cried all night after he took me home.

Then, when it was time for my junior prom, I remembered that incident and decided I was going with a group of girl friends. We danced and laughed and went to dinner and then had a sleepover afterwards, and I don't remember having more fun in high school. I wasn't bound to some loser guy to ditch me for his friends and act like a wallflower all night. I didn't feel self concious about my looks, and I could just relax.

Go with friends, buy flowers for each other like a date would, make reservations at a restaurant before the prom, play it up. It'll be great. Grabbing a date just for the sake of having a date is really not what it's cracked up to be. I never, in all of my years of high school and middle school, EVER saw anyone have a good time with a date they just grabbed so they could have one.

You only look like a loser, if you act the part. If you're confident, going stag will seem like less of a last-resort, and more of a personal preference.

If in doubt, go with other date-less friends as a group.

no dont pay someone, if that leaks somewhere then you will look like a loser. Just go with all your friends and have a good time.

Please don't pay anyone. If that gets out you will definately look like a loser. Anyway, I'm sure you can get someone to go with you, just by being yourself. If you can't, go anyway. You don't want to miss out on that. It will be a blast regardless.

Go with a group of friends. I would not pay anyone to go with you. If that got around, you would probably be made fun of. Be yourself, go with friends, or go alone and meet up with friends. You have some time. Maybe you will find someone nice to go with !
