I say yes

and being a Gordon fan that is at the front of my mind, but ive been saying it for 4 years.

to me its not fair to whoever builds the 200-300 point lead, they worked that hard and it gets taken away.

yes they should, im no gordon fan , but since this chase has come along to me its killed nascar, they keep changing the rules for jr to get in 10 to 12 next yr be 14 and so on, i feel all the drivers that r not in the chase should just park it and let the 12 run, cause u caint wreck them or touch them without nascar throw fines, dale sr would have told them to shove it, nascar is a dying sport, look at bristol this yr the most boring race ever, they keep getting rid of the tracks that made nascar and adding these texas, vegas crap money ruins everything, nextelmy azz, bring back winston the real racing

Yes. The Chase format is not that exciting to me, because over half of the Chase contenders were pretty much out of contention a little over half way through the 10 Chase races. It also seems to impact how everyone is driving - more conservatively, especially non-chasers who don't want to have the stigma of wrecking a chase driver on their conscience, particularly in the last couple of races (which were pretty lackluster).

Erasing an entire season and determining a series champion based on only 10 races doesn't make sense. If NASCAR is going to have drivers competing from February to November, then the champion for a given year should consider all of those races, not just the last 10. Or at least recognize the 'regular season' champion for their accomplishments.

In my opinion, the whole structure of the NASCAR Chase for the Cup series is focused on making more money for NASCAR as opposed to having a structure that truly recognizes the best drivers for the entire season. If they think having a Chase for the Cup adds excitement to the season, I believe they have missed the boat.

Yes. It is utterly contrived, panders to people with short attention spans, and makes luck far too great a factor in the championship. It is disgusting to think that a driver might win 26 races in a row, then cut a couple tires and be out of contention.

While trying to draw in more of the iffy viewers who'd really rather watch football, NASCAR has managed to alienate the real race fans. People who tune away because the championship is already determined aren't real fans anyway. Why is France courting them?

Comparisons to the playoff system used in other sports are specious. There is no baseball equivalent to getting a flat tire, breaking a valvespring, or getting caught up in a rookie's wreck. Anyway, in racing, each team competes with every other team every week; there is no need for any kind of elimination format.

I should mention that I am not a Gordon fan.

The chase is a joke. Nascar is not football or basketball ,thats what makes it special. If you do good all year, why take apenalty at the end by wiping the slate clean. By the way the chase has NOT helped nascar, the rating are lower than they ever have been. Drop the chase and move the races back to noon or 1 pm

I like the chase it tightens up the points for the leading drivers. Without the points adjustment it would always be a run-away with only a few drivers having a shot at the cup.

Well I am not a Gordon fan and I say dump that BS and get back to the old system that worked.
Get rid of every other new rule that they came out with too except the pit road speed one.

Definitely! The champion should be the driver that has the most consistency throughout the entire season and not just during the final few Chase races.

It sucks, its that simple..Yes Nascar pretty much screwed JeffGordon, I'd be pissed if I were him he had a huge lead going into this chase thing, to have it taken away from him...Nascar there was nothing wrong with the old way..All this chase crap is, $$$$ and media hype..thats all.. If you have to do a chase thing just make it a 5 chase chase, this 12 race crap stinks. I doubt Nascar will do anything since they think this crap is great...Nascar is one huge brain fart as far as I'm concerned with this chase format.

The chase blows.
It is a political toy that NASCAR developed to keep big bucks coming into their pockets.Same is true with the top 35 in owner points. Both are out dated and out of touch with the times.
Political favors for certain teams.
