And I bet you thought you should use a lug wrench! No more are rednecks confined to the south, this sounds like something Jeff Foxworthy would use in "You know your'e a redneck when...
Darwinism at its finest!

SOUTHWORTH, Wash. -- A man trying to loosen a stubborn lug nut blasted the wheel with a 12-gauge shotgun, injuring himself badly in both legs, Kitsap County sheriff's deputies said.
The 66-year-old man had been repairing a Lincoln Continental for two weeks at his home northwest of Southworth and east of Port Orchard and had gotten all but one of the lug nuts off the right rear wheel before getting frustrated Saturday afternoon, Deputy Scott Wilson said.
"He's bound and determined to get that lug nut off," Wilson said.
From about arm's length the man fired the shotgun at the wheel and was "peppered" in both legs with 00 buckshot and other debris, with some injuries as high on his body as his chin

Most redneck's know how to change tires, (we have tire irons under the seat of our pickups.) We rednecks drive pickup trucks not Lincoln continentals.

This sounds more like a Darwin recipient.

I watched a friend of mine shoot himself with snakeshot out of his SW 686. We were camping and were setting up one of the tents, me and another friend were out getting wood and kindling and are coming back in time to watch him getting frustrated with a tent stake, no hammer, and no rocks either to serve as a hammer, he unsheaths his 686, grabs it by the barrel and before either of us could yell he had already swung it, more than once, on about the 4th or 5th swing it went off, just barely grazing him, a few nice zingers across the skin, dark red welts and some actual blood for about 5 minutes, we took the pistol, unloaded it, and kept it for the rest of the trip, we ended up staying the full weekend anyhow.
Darwin should have won that one no doubt. While i agree, that a handgun is a tool, it's NOT a hammer!

It is obvious that there are a LOT of people out there who should not be allowed out without a leash. I'm reminded of the saying "Stupid is as stupid does.".

Kuntrygu, you have my deepest sympathy.
