No, as I mentioned in a previous answer to this same question, you cannot OD and die on the psychoactive component in Marijuana. It has a very indirect mechanism of action (through the body's natural cannabinoids like anandamide and oleamide). This same mechanism also ensures that you never get tolerant to the pain-relieving and other positive effects of marijuana. You can only get tolerant to the euphoria it gives. The worse that could happen from smoking too much, is that you'ld fall asleep (and wake up hungry).
I won't go into the details (unless you want me to) as pharmacology can put anyone to sleep as quick as rohypnol. If you want the details, let me know or drop me a line (my email is on my profile page)

A straightforward answer - in usual routes NO.If given advertently by intravenous route in an extremely high dosage - possibly YES!
The parts of the brain that control vital functions do not have many THC receptors, so an extremely high dosage of THC will be required to get an over dosage effects. Also,THC is quickly redistributed into body tissues and blood levels decline shortly over the course. That means, the user surely could had been "KNOCKED OUT" or had FALLEN ASLEEP due to its effects before he could consume an amount of THC that could cause toxic effects. If given IV in a very high dose at once, then chances are some degree of over dosage can possibly be achieved but surely it won't be lethal.

The Drug Awareness Warning Network Annual Report, published by the US federal government contains a statistical compilation of all drug deaths which occur in the United States. According to this report, there has never been a death recorded from the use of marijuana by natural causes. Unlike opiates, barbiturates or amphetamines, there seems to be little risk from the use of large amounts of marijuana. When a person smokes too much they feel very tired and lie down. When people swallow large amounts of hashish, occasionally they get sick to their stomach.
Marijuana's effect on the user depends on the strength or potency of the THC it contains. THC potency has increased since the 1970s but has been about the same since the mid-1980s. The strength of the drug is measured by the average amount of THC in test samples confiscated by law enforcement agencies

You can OD on THC but you would have to be getting it into your system from something that had higher % of THC than marijuana. If you could somehow ingest pure THC it would still take unrealistic amounts to OD

You didn't really define overdosing, whether you meant, "Can you die from it?"
I HAVE OD'd on THC, or at least have been poisoned by ingesting too much. It involved baked goods, and was pretty miserable and out of control, with nausea, massively vivid hallucinations, uncontrollable body spasms. It cured me of trying any more for years. Cautiously enjoy everything!

There's a section in this website (I don't know if it's credible or not) that talks about overdosing on marijuana when taking it orally. It goes on to talk about the symptoms. So it is possible, in theory to OD on it. http://www.rxcbc.org/exd.html

by smoking it no. If you tried to od on thc by smoking it you would pass out from CO, CO2 and lack of oxegen before you od. The only way i can even think of is if you were able to extract it and inject it like cocaine.

No. Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong (web search: Cheech & Chong) would be dead! LOL. But seriously, the carbon monoxide in the smoke is liable to do more damage quicker than THC itself.

'drugs' that grow naturally seem to have a built in 'kill' switch,..marijuana for instance, you can smoke until you o.d. aka pass out, the 'kill' switch,..you can only go so far i would suspect,..but pharmaceuticals are just as bad if not worse and they have instructions for use and warnings/dares of improper use,..look at all the pill poppers that go into cvs, rite aid, walgreens and now wal mart is getting in on the drug scene, correct me if i am wrong,..the phamrmaceutical industry is legalized drug traffiking and the fda is the kingpin,..
