i have been wearing my hard contacts for two years and every few days i get little "contact attacks". when my eye hurts theres a red spot. tears start coming out of my eyes and my friends say "are you ok? are you having another contact attack?"
im thinking that its because dust gets in my eye or something.
QUestions:
1. why do hard contacts hurt for me
2. does it hurt for you occasionallly (if you have them)
3. what can i do when this happens
4. how to prevent

I agree with the above answers, and it sounds like your GPs contacts are old. I would definitely see your optometrist to have them assessed. The fit may also need to be changed since the shape of the cornea may have had a slight change over the course of two years. And just in case you didn't know, you can get your hard lenses professionally cleaned at a lab and it doesn't cost that much but it will make a difference in the comfort and vision. GL!

Have you been wearing the same pair of hard contacts for 2 years? If so, you need new ones. Hard contacts usually last 18 months to 2 years max.

My husband has been wearing the hard ones (gas permeable) for 2 years now and he loves them. The only thing is the solution is a bit more expensive!!!

You're lucky you were able to get used to them. I never could.

I would suggest to change them for new and suitable contacts for your eyes. Please talk to your eye specialist.
