he has never answered my prayers, but my heart says he will.

It's a Garth Brooks song. Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

God's timing is not our timing. And yes, sometimes the answer to prayer is 'no'. But it has nothing to do with a bad or good heart. You have a good heart or else you would have not even asked the question. You care what God thinks or doesn't think.
Unfortunately, he doesn't speak verbally to us, and I have found out that often he answers our prayers in a way that, well, it just wasn't the way (I) wanted it answered for crying out loud. But He is God not me. Ok, you have a good heart; don't let this stop you from praying; and start smiling.

It does not mean that you have a bad heart. First of all you should be doing everything God asks of you, no excuses. You really have to try and apply Bible standards to your life.(I don't know if you do this) If you have a good heart, God will see it and don't you worry. The Bible also states that you have to love God with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul. You really have to trust him and want to turn to him. Do not doubt him. He can do anything if you let him. Sometimes the hardest part is seeing that your prayers have been answered. Sometime we pray for something but refuse to see the answer.

Maybe your not listening to God's response to your prayer. Sometimes, he says no and sometimes he says wait. There are times he says yes as well.
The problem is that while you should be doing things to help yourself, nothing in your power can accomplish God's will. Seek God's will and you may understand more. Pray for understanding to what you feel is an unanswered prayer and you may come to know the true answer that God has given you.
No, this doesn't mean you have a bad heart.

Ariana, God hears all prayers. He also answers them, in His perfect timing! If your prayer has not been answered, it does not mean that you have a bad heart! No way! We all sin and fall short of HIS glory...He knew this and sent His Son as a result!
You have got to keep your faith, keep trusting in God and turning your burdens over to the ONE who can do something. He hears your prayers! However, it is for us to wait upon His answer. The thing is, we usually do not want to wait but, all good things, happen in His timing.
I do not know what your unanswered prayer is but, if you are praying to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob...He hears and will answer you. In as much, know that I am praying that God will show you your heart. If there is something in your heart which is a hindrance, then I ask God to remove this. To walk with you and allow you to see the beauty, in you, in which He sees!
God Bless You,
Gail

Daniel prayed for three weeks before receiving an answer to his prayers (Daniel 10). The message to us is to never give up in prayer, no matter if it takes 3 weeks or 3 years, don't give up. Our enemy, satan, would like us to believe that God doesn't care about our problems, but that is a lie! He tries his best to deceive us into feeling we aren't good enough and that's the reason why our prayers are not answered. Don't believe the lies of the devil! God cares very much for your happiness, and He promised not to turn anyone away who came to Him in faith believing. I will be praying that the Lord brings you peace, comfort & reassurance of His promises. God bless you!!!
Lovingly,
Virginia

it's complicated.
sometimes our prayers suck. we sometimes think we are praying but we're praying to ourselves. trying to make ourselves feel better. but prayer should be alive. god is not sitting on a far away cloud. he's alive. if we look at abraham's prayer to god about the city of sodom in the old testament, he is talking to god. he hears the voice of god, and prays RESPONSIVELY. he responds to god, engages in theological debate.
and sometimes our prayers are answered in ways that we don't necessarily see right away. is proof of our prayers being answered that we get what we ask for? so god is merely a slot machine of wishes that we input and if we don't get what we want, that means we have a bad heart? he's not santa claus.
and as for having a bad heart/being kind and loving and all of that...
just because you are not getting the answers you need/want according to your own standards/timeline doesn't mean you have a bad heart... but if you think that you are kind & loving....
sounds like you think you deserve to get your way because you are kind & loving most of the time, or some of the time... and because you haven't heard your answers or found what you need you are saying, oh so i must be bad.
we are all sinners, our hearts are not good. we have evil intentions sometimes. but god loves us anyway, he wants us despite ourselves. it's not that you have to be good for him to love you, he loves you anyway. let him change you. giving up the power is one of the hardest but the best thing that we'll ever do.

I believe God always answers our prayers. It's just that sometimes, the answer is NO. Good luck to you. That was very hard for me to accept too, but I have to accept that everything is for the better good.
It does not mean that you have a bad heart. Just believe that perhaps it's not what is best to happen for you. Goodness will come soon, life is a roller coaster and maybe this is just a valley instead of a peak. God bless you!

ariana, keep praying and don't give up!
Here what Gods Word says.
Jeremiah 17:9 9 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?
10. But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” NLT
Please look at my blog for today. I am praying for you.

God does not ignore your prayers. You may not be getting the answer you want or expect to get. Just keep an open mind and heart, and eventually you'll know when your prayer is answered.
