"biblical principles" - That's usually a polite euphamism for a bullh*t self improvement scam that pulls a few random quotes from the Bible.
"family values" - Always refers to *Christian* family values. As if atheists, Jews, Hindus aren't able to have a moral family.
"Christian nation" - The U.S. was never a Christian nation. If it was, don't you think the founding fathers would have mentioned God at least once in the founding document (the Constitution). The U.S. is a SECULAR nation with a Christian majority and we should all be thankful for that.
"worship music" - the most god-awful unlistenable sh*t ever composed by a person with a pulse. A financial bonanza for mediocre musicians and composers (e.g. John Tesh).
"Love gift" - Congratulations. You just helped some televangelist buy another solid gold toilet seat. And you thought you were buying your way into heaven.
"Theology" - it would be more accurate to call it what it is - applied fiction.

There should be no blasphemy laws or any religious laws.. Until such time as any religion can prove their way is right! Religion in all it's forms is just like children with an imaginery friend.. If I can critise various political parties why should there be laws to not let me crtiicise any religion.. It's the 21st Century time for these myths to stay in the past..

For me, it depends upon how the word is used...
for instance:
Backsliding:
"oh, you DO know that so and so is a backslider (or is backsliding), right?"
Actually I don't think people should use that word in any context.
And sometimes it ends up that the person being spoken about is living a righteous life, someone just made a wrong conclusion!
Besides, that is gossip...
and...
Sinner:
"Oh, you know that no one's perfect... we're all sinners."
Two words: COP OUT.
It makes my skin crawl to hear it... Unfortunately i hear it in church alot.
The word holiness and righteousness should be used in reference to those that Jesus has saved more than the word: sinner. God intends for us to accept His sacrifice and live as Saints.
Some people say: we're Saints who sin, i guess thats o.k., once in awhile to say that, but I dunno... I suppose the word sin, bothers me alot because I hate it so much.

The worst one is "religion". What RELIGION are you? Eww. Actually, I love all those ones you don't like. If Lord and Christ makes you squirm/roll your eyes, I am sorry, but I would seriously question whether you are really saved.

"New Age"
"Aliens"
"tin foil hats"
"Awesome" - especially when said repeatedly by fundamentalists. As in, "Oh, Lord, you are so awesome that we just thank you for your awesome power and the awesome fellowship we have here in your awesome holy presence..."
I think this is the most overused word in fundamentalism. Or at least it was when I was involved.

Better take a look at your relationship with God if the words and phrases you mentioned make you uncomfortable. Sounds as if you never really accepted "Christ" as your "Lord and Saviour". He is my Lord and Saviour, and I rejoice because of it.

I don't like the word "worship" because to me it carries the connotation of "get down and grovel because I'm not worthy of the Divine". I use "honor" instead.
