Here are the reasons we're in Iraq...
http://freedomagenda.com/iraq/wmd_quotes (We were told to go by Congress)
http://www.c-span.org/resources/pdf/hjres114.pdf (Congress passed a law authorizing military force in Iraq.
Some say... after the fact... that there are no WMD. Therefore, the war is a farce. There may not have been WMD... or maybe e somehow got rid of them... nobody knows for sure... but there was a threat.
Some say we got rid of Hussein... why not come home? Because there are a lot of wild-eyed zealots who would take the place of Hussein. If we leave before Iraq has a military force that can take care of the country, the zealots will take over... and the Iraqi people will be right back where they were 6 years ago. The dictator will just have a different name. All the people who have died in Iraq... US soldiers, allies, and Iraqis... will have been for nothing.
Some contend that too many American lives have been lost in Iraq. In past wars, almost as many soldiers have been lost in one battle lasting a few days than have been lost in the years of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Do you know that every year 4 times as many people die in hospitals due to careless, inept, or incompetent doctors as have been killed in Iraq in over 5 years? On a three-day weekend, more die in traffic accidents than are killed in a month in Iraq. And these deaths are for nothing. Soldiers in Iraq are laying their lives on the line to secure for the Iraqi people the same freedoms we enjoy. Those lives are risked for a purpose.

1st off, do some research, it's sad to see people cheat themselves out of opportunity to learn.
2nd
You can go three ways:
Option A) Pro-War
Research UN Resolution 687 on the internet, it's the peace treaty drafted after the Gulf War it describes all rules America made regarding Iraq not building WMDs, in the following ten years Saddam broke this treaty constantly and didn't account (and sill is unaccounted for) tons of WMDs. When the old regime refused to allow UNSOCOM in for inspections the US took Iraq by force.
Now following that, why we are still there is a two part answer, one believe it or not we are still looking for the unaccounted WMDs and second our war turned Iraq into an unstable freeforall in which Iran, Al-Qaeda, 1920 Rev Brigade, Sadr, New Ba'athist party, PUK, and countless others all want power.
Option B) Anti-war
Following the Iraq war, Iraq turned into the third largest producer of oil in the world, but due to self-imposed trade embargos British and American oil companies had not access to that oil. Research Iraq hydrocarbon law for more info. Those who say we are there for the oil, don't mean America is there for the oil, they simply mean American and British oil companies (i.e. British Petroleum and Texaco) and the elite class are there for the oil; research PNAC for more info,
Option C) TERROR
Saddam had been suspected of training terrorists and has been substantiated that the Ba'ath party supplied money to Islamic Fundamentalists (Ironic thing is, the fundamentalists were against Iran). Research: Mujahadeen E-kalq (MEK)

1. Saddam was believed to have WMD b/c he used them to cause the deaths against his own people and the scud missiles he launched into Israel.
2. now that were are there we are fighting Islamic extremist. We entered Afghanistan to disrupt them, so why would we leave Iraq only to hand it over to them.
3. if the Islamic extremists do take Iraq, they will have an enormous amount of money to fund terrorists organizations using the oil.
4. turning Iraq into a country controlled by the people might be an incentive for the Iranian people to over throw the nut case in power.
5. we were attacked in Lebanon with over 200 dead. we did nothing, we were attacked in Africa 18 men killed, we did nothing. 17 sailors killed again, we did nothing. Attacked in the world trade center 6 dead. we did nothing. They attacked us again on 9/11 3000 Americans dead.
Finlay we fight back, but now we want to leave. Osama was quoted saying the Americans may have a power full military, but kill a few of there own and they will run away.
id like to prove him wrong for once

TERRORISM......TERRORISM.....TERRORISM......ANYONE WHO SAYS IT IS ABOUT OIL IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG. WE HAVE PLENTY OF OIL IN OUR COUNTRY. REMEMBER 911? DO YOU WANT THAT TO HAPPEN AGAIN?
SEMPER FI THESE NON SERVERS ARE MORONIC.
EDIT: anyone who thinks this is over oil is out of their minds. You need to pay attention more. Iran and Iraq (amongst other countries) are funding the terrorist organizations that are killing people in cowardly ways all over the world. Whether you like our president or not you need to get your facts before you run your little mouths. Maybe if one of your relatives were killed by one of these cowards you would think differently. Sad thing is,,,,is that people around the world need to have reasons of their own to back the war on terror and if it does not effect them personally then they are against it. Get with it people. These terrorist are everywhere and hate everything the western civilization stands. They feel women and children as well as Christians are beneath them and do not need or have a voice. Thus they come over here and kill us. They don't care if you are military or civilians. They want you to die in the most painful way possible. Period. Do some research.
