When I was a kid, we were always forced to sing "Children of the Light", went something like "We are children, children of the light, we are shining, in the darkness of the night" etc etc.
If you're looking for something less childlike, maybe "Somebody Touched Me" by Bruce Cockburn? Its a very moving song. Less about literal light, more about spreading love and the effects. Here are the lyrics.

" (Keep On) Rocking in the Free World" by Neil Young, who got the inspiration for the song from George Bush Sr.'s remark during a speech of people being "a thousand points of light"......
....the song deals with the current world strifes of the time....that carry on to this day.
