Both pills have 25mg of Diphenhydramine HCI as their active ingrediant, and only a few differences in their inactive ingreadiants. In a nutshell, they look basicly like the same thing when I compared the backs to both boxes. So is there really no difference, just different names for it? I dont get it. Is it in my head that they dont feel like the same thing when i think about it? hmmm...someone some feedback please!

Benadryl is tagged as an ALLERGY medicine while SIMPLY SLEEP is more known as a sleep aid remedy. Contentwise, both are the same having Diphenhydramine HCl as the active ingredient. Both can act as medication for allergy and a sedative.

The way they are manufactured makes the difference. Benadryl which is manufactured by Pfizer is made more costly, while Simply Sleep is manufactured as a less-costly generic version.

There possibly could be some degree of differences in their potency but generally they are of the same GENERICS manufactured in different BRANDS.

Nytol also has the same ingredients. When I was pregnant I had lots of problems with allergies and didn't know what was safe to take. I had asked about taking Benadryl. It was okay to take. Then I was having trouble sleeping so I asked my doctor if it was okay to take Nytol or a different sleep aid. She laughed and asked me if it was okay to take Benadryl. I nodded and she said they were basically the same thing. They are just packaged for the issue people are buying them for.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

Thanks for the info SadieB. I never read the ingredients in any sleep meds as I don't normally use them. Now I know I don't need to buy them if I do have trouble sleeping as Benadryl never makes me sleepy.

Yes, they're the same, and it's all about the marketing.

I totally disagree. Pantheism is both a religion and a philosophy. Who cares just live your life and be kind.
