We're all given gifts that we can choose to use in service to God's plan or in opposition to his plan. We can choose to use a brilliant mind to understand God's creation or to deny his involvement in creation. Darwin chose to use his gifts to deny rather than support God's purpose for his life.
The bible makes it clear that we all bear fruits and that we are responsible for they type of fruit we choose to bear. If I'm the manager of a company, I'm under no obligation to accept the work of an employee that didn't follow my instructions for doing the work and produced something that has no value to me. Jesus is under no obligation to accept the fruits of someone that used the gifts to do something contrary to his instructions.

As a Mormon I don't believe that Jesus (or God) gave ANYONE a mind--brilliant or otherwise. Joseph Smith--the First Mormon--taught (in his last great sermon, the King Folliet Discourse) that "the mind of man is eternal"...that it is "co-equal with God," and that "God never had the power to create it [the mind of man] because God could not create himself."
In short, Darwin existed within nature the same as we all do. He had a highly developed intelligence, and was able to discover many facts of biological nature which had been obscured for centuries by superstition and religious mythology.
I believe that Jesus does accept the theory of Evolution. And oddly enough, every single Christian Fundamentalist who breeds cattle or raises crops or practices medicine accepts all the BASIC PRINCIPLES of evolution or else they wouldn;t be able to do their jobs.

Jesus does not reject darwin's theory of evolution. After all evolution is a way of life, whether we like it or not. It is just that Darwin gave his theory of the origin of the species, after Jesus left the world. We do not know the reactions of Jesus, but knowing Jesus well, I do not think he will reject the theory, the way he said 'render unto ceaser that which is ceaser's.....'

He came by his briliant mind by the genetics of father and mother. He used his mind to find the reasons for existance not to subvert any diety nor to prove one. He set out to discover our origins and the origins of all known species on this mudball. Simply put, Darwin wanted to form his own opinions of the origin of the species.
pssssssst, evolution has been proven! nmext question.

Darwin's conjecture -- is substantiated by the evidence within the regime of micro-evolution, but has enormous gaps which are filled in by faith when it comes to macro*-evolution (chemical to human evo).
The Christian God created the processes that drive micro-evolution, and stepped in at times to provide the information needed for the biosphere to make the jumps (information wise) needed for macro*-evolution.
