my boyfriend and me have been dating for a while now and i love him, ive never been happier and i want to tell my parents but afraid they might say i cant go places with him n.e.more. my parents think were just friends, but my boyfriend and me think theyll say no cuz of my boyfriends and my age difference: hes 5 yrs older than me...help!!!

better TRY than never try at all..
our parents will always be happy if we could find our own happiness in life and being the closest person we could share our stories and interest with aside from friends then it's about time that you'll start to open up with them. Start with your mom,have a good girly talk while she's in good mood,help her out to cook or whatever she's doing and she'll realize you want to make a conversation with her. Our parents have been there and they can sense it through our actions so never think they'll be against it if it's something that you like not unless you are 16 and to them still too early to make such decisions. I don't really know your situation and how come you and your boyfriend think that your parents won't allow you two to be at least a cute couple not unless he has bad sides to him that your parents know.
Since they allow you to go with him( as friends)then it's a clear manifestation that they will also allow him to be your man,since they trust him to be your friend already.
I usually do little jokes to my mom and make teasers for her to have at least a clue of what could be possible to happen and then you will know how will she respond to it.

Unless you're older than 17, then yes, they should react that way. That age difference is still inappropriate by this society's standards, and it's their responsibility as parents to follow that as well as protect you. Sorry for the bad news.

Oh the 5 yr thing makes it hard
but if they let u go "hang out" with this man
they should let u date him
but with any bf ur parents r going to tense about it
so do expect some changes
but make sure and make it good like suck up to them...something like this
Tell them ur sorry for keeping it from them for soo long
and that it killed u to have to keep something from them cuz u do feel like u guys have a open relationship
but that u really like this guy and he treats you
very good and your hoping they can except it

It depends how old you are, and the maturity level of both those in the relationship. Your parents won't be mad if they think you guys are good for each other and you're really in love. Go Good Luck, and tell them with him there too- it just shows that extra bit of respect.

I understand what you're going through.... You aren't sure wheather or not your parents will approve him for you...... Well here's my answer: Your parents love you and will do anything for you, they respect you, and listen to you, What you need to do is feel the same around them. Yes, it's hard but they will never judge you and even though they might disaprove of your choice, they will let you make the final decision.

You don't actually say what your ages are. That will obviously affect your parents opinions on this matter.
The more your parents get to know him, hopefully, the better they will come to like him, if they see he is a good, responsible young guy, that treats you well.
I'd leave telling them you love him just yet. Let them get to know him first.

listen no one can tell you who to love but your heart, i date a man who was 20yrs older then me and I'm 24 but i loved the sh it out of him and I had to see it for myself, you live and you learn ,don't let NO ONE tell you what you should do/ who you should be with or love your parents lived there life now its time for you to live yours and find someone you can live it with. ALSO.... if your parents love you they will come around!!!!!!
P.S. MAYBE you should what until your 18, it could go both ways your parents could be happy for you or they could be so mad that they will put him in JAIL!!!!

well how old are u? i have friends who are going out with guys who r 2-3 years older and they parents are ok with it . it just depends on how ur parents are. Do they like him? just have him come to ur house for dinner or lunch and tell ur parents together thats what one of my friends did and her parents were ok with it.

How old are you that him being 5 years older than you matters?
5years older is not a big deal. I don't think your parents will be upset.
