No. CJ degrees are not normally part of the requirements for Correctional Officer. Does help if you have one though.
One of the skills you do have to have is the ability to write a coherent report, with proper spelling and grammar.

Where I live in Arkansas, all you need is a high school diploma. Most people who want to be Sheriffs deputies start at the jail.
