What would get an atheist to believe in God? Seeing Him at your doorstep... Walking through a wall... An extremely improbable event... Hearing Jesus in your sleep... Inexplicable rushes of joy or happiness?

Seeing him with my own eyes. But that will never happen.

Lol I've experienced half of that crap while high, so no. I would question my sanity first.

I'll tell you what tho, have your god turn all the guns on the planet into flowers and I will convert to the religion of your choice.

nothing
None of the religious dogma makes any sense at all.
While their intentions were good in the main, the ancients were so severely uneducated and their ramblings just do not add up to anything approaching reality.
We are living in an age where more and more are realising that we do not need an imaginary friend to protect us or to explain why a rainbow happens or to demonstrate his existence by virtue of a tree being before our eyes.
Why are the americans so deluded (generalisation but you get the point) when the rest of the developed world are predominantly atheist and increasingly so as the older generation fades away? Can it simply be childhood indoctrination allied to faulty education? Can it be the simple fact that, in addition to the aforementioned, they so desperately NEED the waffle to be true that they have convinced themselves that it is so. Can it be as simple as that?

He would need to come down from heaven, on a flying chariot of fire surrounded by Seraphim and address all of the peoples of the world in their own languages simultaneously. He would ned to do things that cannot physically be possible without some type of transcendence of nature, and I would need absolute proof that said deed was impossible. I would then need newspaper reports on the event, video of it from news reports and a psychiatrists signed report saying that I was not crazy and/or on drugs when I saw this. That's the only way.

I was born a Christian, and I have doubted my religion plenty. But there are also plenty of miracles that serves as a constant reminder and keeps me being Christian. What people would see as everyday life, people who have faith in God sees as miracles. If you're trying to convert someone, or are looking to be converted, I don't know how, I never converted anyone. But my dad did. There's no such thing as walking through walls, I guess, but there are plenty of convincing miracles daily

Yeah sumthin like a miracle dat can be experienced by more than one person and can be performed consistently thru prayer will make an atheist believe. But then again there can crop up other questns like how to prove that it is god HimselF n all. Nyway, it is highly likely that it will neva happen.

It would have to be something physically tangible that could not be explained away. I guess you could say that is a miracle, but there is always a way to explain things. Always. Because of that the physical manifestation would most likely have to be God ( whatever that is) and the actual manifestation, the process of becoming tangible to my senses, would have to witnessed. Then I would get really nervous thinking about all the nasty crap I have pulled.

Appearing live and in person and doing something god-like in front of a vast crowd, including TV cameras, etc etc.

As in my last answer, turning the moon a nice shade of yellow with thick purple stripes, instantly. That would be fairly definitive.

I used to be an unbeliever before I accepted Christ 5 years ago. I remember a Christian cell group leader had advised me many years ago, "Ask God to speak to you in a way you can understand, and dare to believe."

Since then, I slowly learnt to acknowledge God in the little details in my life. Until one day, I accepted my colleague's invitation to attend church. Then I started reading the Bible again, and some verses began to speak to my heart. Like in Ecclesiastes: "Meaningless! Life is meaningless!" The words resounded in my heart back then because I did feel life was meaningless.

Later on, I remember reading Isaiah 55 saying God's ways are higher than my ways, and His thoughts are higher than my thoughts. I found myself agreeing that since I'm only a human being with limited understanding, therefore who am I to judge God?

I also noticed my Christian friends love me for who I am, and they did not try to convert me. I felt that I have done nothing to deserve their kindness. So I eventually thought that it must be God behind all these events.

Finally, I got to know a friend who asked me directly whether I believe Jesus died for my sins. That was 5 years ago. I took a few days to ponder, and finally decided to acknowledge God is real. So I prayed in my own words asking Jesus to be my Lord and Saviour, and I began to attend church on my own. Since then, I have never looked back with regrets. Though I may experience trials and rejection and misunderstanding from others from time to time, I can boldy say, "The Lord is my Helper. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" For the Lord Himself has shown me that He is faithful and true, and He will never put me to shame when I trust His goodness and mercy.

I believe only God can Bring you to Himself. He still can not MAKE you believe. We have this free will thing going. Also, you may want to check out 1 Corinthians 2:7 to 14.

Not bashin', just saying.

God Bless and good question!
