My eyesight is incredibly bad: -6.50
I wear contacts, and my eye doctor says that my eyes get worse each year! How can I make my eyesight better, or at least prevent it from getting worse?

There is no scientific proof that any exercises or vitamins will improve your vision. And even if these exercises or vitamins did work it wouldn't be enough to actually cure you of your near sightedness. Glasses are a fashion accessory these days so they aren't that bad, also you can get contact lenses. Eye surgery is very common these days and if you would really like to have 20/20 vision without any corrective devices that would probably be the only way.

Your eyesight does get worse as one gets older and there are a number of genetic conditions that cause poor eyesight.

You say you have seen an eye doctor but what kind of an eye doctor? You should see a medical eye doctor who will run numerous tests to ascertain your condition. He should then be able to give you a prognosis and perhaps suggest options for slowing the progression of the decline.

i wear contacts too, which arent really all that great for your eyes, so to prevent your eyesight from getting worse you should make sure you take your contacts out every night and change your solution everytime you put them in your case
seriously though you have to take them out everynight!! i didn't when i first got mine and now my eyesight is horrible!!
and wear glasses around the house, if they're the right prescription they can sometimes improve your vision.

You should increase your intake of vitamin A. Naturally you should eat Guava(if you know what this fruit looks like). Also eating lots of vegetables and cutting down on your amount of time spent in front of tv may help.

Carrots are also good. hope these help. Cheers!

Lasik surgery would make it better.

I currently wear contacts at night so I would have good vision during the day. It's known as ortho-k (orthokeratology) and it reshapes the cornea when you wear it at night and you take them out during the day. After I got them, my vision hasn't gotten worse.

Actually -6.5 is not incredibly bad, it is not an uncommon amount. There are people at -8, -9, -10.

There is no way to make it better or prevent it from getting worse.
