i hear all these people saying "just ask for forgiveness"

and I'm thinking.. well then are you saying that if a person kills someone purposefully, but then "asks for forgiveness" no matter how sincere he is, he will be forgiven because Jesus "died for him"

doen't it make sence that a person should be punished for there wrong doings..

there just has to be more to it then asking for forgive ness. you would probably need to be commiting the rest of your life to be forgivin. not just some little "please for give me" thing. your probably gonna need to show how your truly sorry??

i guess not. wow thats an easy religion. you don't really have to work for it. -.-, and in my opinion thats not a good thing.

i belive you should work hard for your religion, not just some lame apology.

To tell the truth the Catholics are the ones that are more into the whole act of confessing more than Christians. Personally I am a skeptic, so I do not believe that the bible is the "word" on how to live. Each person views the world differently and is thus going to have a different perspective. Rather Jesus was a religious person is unknown. Personally I just think he was just a progressive thinker more than anything else. I dont believe in sin or heaven or hell

I have an interesting theory on this. Jesus died for everyone's sins and thus took responsibility, but if we're all supposed to be like Jesus then shouldn't we take responsibility for our own sins and not hide behind Jesus?

To answer your question, though, the point of confessing is theoretically that your sins can only be absolved if you confess them and are truly sorry. If you bottle them up then a) it's tougher to improve yourself and b) they theoretically (based on Church hierarchy ideas) have no way of getting to Jesus, officially speaking.

Jesus died to redeem us from sin. If we sin more, we must confess it, and repent. To confess and continue sinning is of no use. If you do not understand confession, read 1 John 1:5-10. We say our sins to the priest, and confess them to God.

Confessing is just to release yourself, the bible says confess your sins and he will throw them in the river of forget fullness never again to return so they are just to release the birden you carry and to show forgiveness. Cause sinners still get into heaven if you notice David, Moses, Mary, and there is a lot more that sinned and still entered heavens gates.

You forget approximately that salvation isn't automatic. Salvation isn't in elementary terms exceeded over to all and varied. It must be asked for ! We DO have a evaluate our sanctification. We ought to come into courting with Christ and the courting demands us to do specific issues. specific, salvation is a unfastened present, despite the fact that this is not conferred upon unbelievers and apostates. and what's sin? it is words/strikes that "omit the mark" of God's customary of habit. In sin, we "turn" far flung from God and take a walk with devil. How does God know that all of us know that we don't choose for to maintain that walk with devil? We ought to come until eventually now the throne and CONFESS that we don't choose for to circulate there anymore. specific, we can not confess each and every sin until eventually now God, yet that isn't the element. the element is : will you even make the attempt? For in confession, one shows the divine function that exalts us as much as the point of Jesus. We come into SUBMISSION ! ! ! ! ! Micah 6:8

If you mean confessing to a priest, I don't know. That's a Roman Catholic thing, we who are Protestants talk to God straight.

The reason why we confess to God is because it maintains the connection with God and the believer, we need it. We need to admit when we are wrong.

Look at it this way. If you had a team, and your team would perform wrong but never admitted it, they would tend to continue their habits in the game. No one would benefit more if mistakes were admitted, and the correct plan of action taken.

We admit to what we do wrong because it's the right thing to do, and benefit from it because it is the truth. We are supposed to love the truth, even if it seems to hurt us.

As Christians, we have to confess our sins in order for God the Father to forgive us.

Confessing is supposed to help you realize your sinful behavior, contemplate it and be penitent. In my opinion, the act of confession is not related to Jesus dying for your sins per se.

Jesus Died so that WE could:
1. Get our Spirits Recreated (Saved, Born-Again) so we can go to Planet Heaven.
2. Get our Sins Forgiven so we can Maintain FELLOWSHIP with GOD Almighty (Jesus).
3. When our Sins are Forgiven, there could be Chances to Lessen the OutCome (you Reap what you have Sown).
So on......
