I have a contact lens power of -3.25. What does that translate into in terms of my visual acuity?

What does -3.25 translate to? (i.e. 20/20, 20/40, 20/60, 20/80 . . .)

The power of the prescription doesn't " translate" into a visual acuity measurement. Especially in high powers like you have, you are beyond where the uncorrected visual acuity is normally even measured during the exam because it is of no real use to know. It's probably safe to say you would be at least 20/600, maybe as high as 20/1000..without correction. BUT , you are most likely 20/20 or very close to it WITH your contacts/glasses ON...that is the important measurement. 20/20 isn't "perfect" vision btw...it can be better than that. Many people have 20/15 and even 20/10 20/20 is just the visual acuity that is considered normal.

The way to determine visual acuity is with an eye chart.
Patients with refractive errors like yours often have va of around 20/400.

Do you mean with or without the contact lenses on? If with the lenses, you will need to ask your doctor who has actually measured it.

If without lenses, you can't really convert power to acuity. An estimate would be between 20/200 and 20/400.

I have the same power lens. I can't see distant objects without them clearly.
