Faith influences how somebody acts, guide to achieve his/her goal. While believing in fate builds mindsets which accept what has happened, this strengthen the mind facing problems.
Both are powerful from two different point of views, for those who believe and run on them.

Eddy

" Fight so HARD that even FATE accepts it's defeat!"
We may have FAITH in FATE.
So, both are powerful :). Most would agree that this incident would be chalked up as an unfortunate incident, a bit of bad luck, and just the result of some bad fate. Faith would not even enter the picture. The majority of people would not consider this a life altering incident that requires a deep examination or questioning of their outlook, beliefs, or faith. The majority would write it off, learn from it as an example, slowly begin to put it out of our mind, and get on with life.
What about a more serious example where a family member was riding with us in the vehicle and sadly they died as a result of an accident that was determined to be our fault? This type of instance is severe enough that both fate and faith will be brought into question.

Fate can feel far more powerful. Faith takes active work, a decision to adhere to the best of one's spiritual being. Faith is the more powerful, yet it takes rising above the ordinary tide of life. It does appear that it is easier to die as a mere animal, taking the path of least resistance, letting what happens happen; letting the base emotions make one jaded. Yet each day is the day that one can grab hold of faith and not let it go. I believe there is the potential for one's own heaven in most of us.

First of all, the equalize fate with faith indicates a lack of faith for in faith their is no fate.
Our fate, as you put is is not decided before hand, for in this belief you are believing in pre destination and that is not what eternity is all about. One can have faith without any concept of fate. If you do otherwise you are misguided. True one can have faith that what they are doing will lead to a better understanding of the world, and the concept of heaven after this life.....but fate...then I would ask...why bother.
The Almighty's creations of mankind that which he created out of his own image and likeness is not as a MERE animal, for mankind was/is created above the animals. Therefore no one dies as a "mere animal"....when he dies his concept will reveal the facts of his true being as God's tender loving child and the creation of the most magnificent of all His creations.

I see some interesting answers here.
What is Fate? There must be a cause to absolutely everything that happens. But, still, we sometimes say it was our fate.
A lot of people might die like animals. If we want our life and death more godly then we need faith.
We strenghten our faith through association "sanga" with the eternal, the representatives of God.

What's the balance; how much faith need one have?
With enough faith, we should be able to move mountains, but we can't. I don't believe our personal faith alone is the answer. If it is, it'll be mighty lonely on the other side.
'Mere animals' doesn't sit well with me. Infants may not have any concept of faith, people with mental disease may not understand or hold faith, some very 'good' people may decide against faith.
Fate is the side I'd lean towards; even though my actions may well decide it.
Peace

Answer to this question depends on your personal and religious beliefs. Its very subjective.
One school of thought says Fate is what is destined to happen to you based on your Karma. Faith is what helps you get thru difficult times you go in to by your fate. This school of thought implies that you cant broadly compare what is powerful as they are inherently different. But this philosophy goes on to say that Faith has the strength to change your fate.
Another school of thought does not believe in Fate and Faith is therefore seen as self delusion.
It therefore depends on your own beliefs.

Faith just to be in a religious stand point without faith u dont believe in god because u never seen him but you believe in him so how do you know he is real the only answer is your faith in him not saying that your fate is not important but it is decided by god also he knows what will happen in the end so its just believing.

I would say that Faith is more powerful than fate, because the Bible teaches us that, the second coming of Christ is near, but, we humans should change our ways of Living, as it is,some people do not care for the Life of another, and they do not show any remorse when they see somebody needing help, they would just rather pass them by then Help them. But it is up to us if we will repent our ways, if we want to go to Heaven.

To me Faith is more powerful because I like to feel in charge of my life and I can control my faith but not my fate.
