Being that the Bible is a compilation of books over thousands of years with many authors and not one contradicts another shows me that it is evidence that there is a God and this is his Word and will. It certainly could not have been written by men when done that way. Impossible. So not only do we have the man Jesus but we also have the written Word, a historical document containing the foretelling of that man and what his significance is. And there is plenty and foretelling left to fulfill which is occurring each day, month and year that passes. So all can see and judge it's truth. It's main objective is Jesus. The Promise of God for our restoration of relationship with him. No other book can compare. It has stood the test of time and it's truth has out lived it's skeptics.

It is for the benefit of Mankind. to learn and to develop a personal friendship with God the Father.
It is a book of instructions from our Creator to us .....
Much like the Ford or Chevy factories send out a book of instructions on handling their cars.
1. So to guide mankind.
2. enlighten the world of love.
3. To guide us past the Roman Catholic Church into world of realities.

I am a Jesus following Christian. I believe God's purpose of providing man with the Bible was to allow us to know Him and learn about our situation. Our situation being that we are all separated from God by our sin nature and without Christ's redemptive work we are damned to eternal separation. We know God's word = we know God and His plan/ways.

There were so many stories and tales going around they wanted to get them organized in a book so they wouldn't forget them. They left out approximately 200 because they didn't fit their plans for control of the weakminded at the time.
