I just ordered a new bed, and to keep from having to pole vault into it, I got the lower- profile box spring. Since it's shorter, do I use a full size bedskirt?

A queen bed is longer and wider than a fullsize bed so the bedskirt will look like "lettuce in a sandwich" if you know what I mean.

Yes, a Full size bedskirt can work on a Queen low profile box spring, but only if the Full bedskirt is gathered, not tailored, and not a really heavy fabric, so it will drape nicely. The Full center panel is shorter and narrower, so it can be placed all the way at the top (head) edge, and be centered on the box spring side to side The extra length of the drop will cover the rest of the box spring on the three remaining edges, and drape perfectly to the floor. If in doubt, measure your bed (1) from head to foot and down to the floor, and then (2) on the sides, from the floor up, across, and to the floor. Compare each of those measurements to the measurements of a Full bedskirt, being sure to add both side drops. You will see that it matches well.

No, you still need a queen size bedskirt because it needs to cover the entire surface of the mattress before it falls over the side. If you have a full size, the gathers or pleats won't hang correctly and will not look right. It will actually look like your bedskirt is not the correct size.

Does this even make sense?

A queen is 6 inches wider than a full so probably not so much

I found a full/queen adjustable bed skirt at Walmart for under $15.00. There are Velcro strips down the middle to make it go from a full to queen. I left it for a full bed which make the drop shorter and it worked perfectly on my low profile queen foundation. Try it if you don t like it you can always return it.

the length of the skirt is not the problem the white part that goes on the box spring needs to be the same size as the mattress so it hangs nice and even all the way around.
