Over the past few months when I lost my faith, I lost my praying habit. What used to be a soulful heart to heart talk with God is not a "God thanks for all you've done, forgive me all my sins and protect me, in jesus name i pray amen" I cant go further than that.
What do you include in your prayers? What do u feel when u pray?
There was this one time i and some friends were praying, when it came a friend of mine's turn, he prayed and when he was done I and the others felt this sudden calm. it felt so good! That is the one time I have ever felt that way... have YOU felt that in prayer before? if so how did you come about that? ...

With real heartfelt prayer. And you were feeling the spirit of God among you. Maybe it would help to pray for others instead of yourself pray with meaning and open your spirit to God. It does no good to just repeat the same old thing to cover your a--.Pray for peace.

You know what...about 3 and a half years ago, the same thing happened to me. My work was getting to me, I did not feel the same drive I had to do anything let alone serve and talk to God. For a six month period, I though that if I wasn't going to have a sincere prayer I would not pray at all. My prayers were the thank you, forgive, blah, blah, sleep. Eventually I stopped doing that. I still went to church and did all the actions, but inside had no drive. But after a few small life changes (work, and re-evaluating me), I relied on God to strengthen my faith. The song by Casting Crowns, Voice of Truth and know that God was there. It was not Him who changed it was me. My situations that got the better of me and I let it. I changed jobs, got a better schedule and started counseling with my pastor and friend.
There is no verse that will break you out of it. You may read some and it may help for a while, but when people say read the bible or this or that it doesn't help. Look to God, Concentrate on Him and ask Him to force you to look to Him. "I want to want you Lord." Ask Him to make a break in the clouds. Concentrate on your prayers and force yourself to talk to Him. Just like Jesus was next to you. Because He is. Talk to your pastor or someone who you would consider a mentor and tell him/her exaclty what you are feeling. When other pray for you, it does help.

I find it very hard to pray. I feel like this: I do not deserve anything from God. Because I sin everyday. I have always had issues in my life about my sin. At an early age I was constantly reminded of my sins. My folks were quick to let me know all the requirements of God. But in my heart I would not accept it. I did not like getting up for church or dressing nice. I hated the fact that I would have to go out in service to knock on doors and tell others about God's plan of salvation. I rebelled and ran way. I decided to go against everything my parents ever taught me. I joined the marines,I got married to a catholic, I forgot about my real life. As I went along in life I noticed I was struggling, I was Doing OK but my brother was well off,had a good job,had lots of things, but still took time to do the work of God. I have learned the hard way that trying to do things your own way are frivolous, like tossing money into the wind.I am older now. My health is not good. My financial situation is not good. I know that this life is passing by and I want more in life. I want to do the will of the father. But I have fought the father all of my life. That is why I find it very hard to pray because I have done nothing to merit any response at all. But thanks to God through Jesus the redeemer I have a chance. I do struggle. Can I testify?

True prayer needs relaxation and focused concentration. First we connect with the Spirit of God through the Lord Jesus Christ. Then we just bask in God's presence without asking anything but being thankful for His love. Thereafter we can present our petitions, ask for guidance and the strength to follow that guidance. We must always pray in Jesus' name because He is our channel to the Almighty.

Hi Help:
When I pray, I simply gaze at the God, who loves me beyond measure. I recall how good this God was to create the world, to share His goodness to all of us, to forgive our sins, to redeem us, and to inspire us. Praying does not have to be through words or a set formula: sometimes, prayer is a mixture of adoration, thanksgiving, petition and repentance.
Try seeing prayer as if you're talking to your best friend: God/Jesus is certainly our best friend, who wishes all the best for us. Certainly, he wishes peace for our souls, the kind of peace that comes when we surrender everything to him, and when we struggle to overcome our weaknesses and be a little like Jesus everyday.
It won't always be a time of consolation, a kind of feeling "high". Sometimes, Jesus withdraws this from us to test our faith and perseverance in prayer: there will be moments of dryness, as if we are talking to a blank wall, when no inspiration, feeling or nice thought comes to mind.
Don't despair. The important thing in such a case is to simply show up for your appointment with Jesus. Otherwise, won't we hear Jesus faulting us a little like he did to Peter, James and John, who feel asleep, at the Garden of Olives: "Can you not stay with me for an hour?"
The trick is to try to say aspirations or little prayers throughout the day, childlike things: "Jesus, I love you", "Thank you, Lord, for this heavy traffic you sent my way", "Lord, restore peace in my soul." You can do it.

I believe in liturgical prayer. You aren't likely to say anything that hasn't been said before, but in more eloquent language. I recommend getting a prayerbook (Epicopalian, Lutheran, Roman Catholic or Orthodox) and setting a moderate rule of prayer that you observe every day.

When all else fails, pray the Psalms on a daily basis.

When you pray, you need to pray from the heart. Pray for whats on your mind and ask God to lead you in your walk with him. Pray and talk to God open-heartedly and ask for forgiveness specifically for your sins and just spend time in prayer with him. To be in the right mindset, you need to want to pray and be lead by God.

Hebrews 11:1-Faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not yet seen.

To communicate with God you need:

Most importantly faith."Without faith it is imposible to please God"

2.Take out some time to pray.Thirty,twenty,10,5,3 minutes;take out some time of your day to focus on praying to God

3.After you pray, have patience, becuase God is not gonna always answer when we want Him to.

4.When you pray, first start with praise and thanks, then any request or questions you may have, then end with praise and thanks.

God Bless!:-)

Prayer is not always to make you feel good. Sometimes prayer is painful and inconsolable. Tearful and shameful. You poor out your thoughts and emotions without restraint.God knows what we go through and life can be difficult. Prayer is not always when we feel good. It is also when we feel alone,

hated,rejected,misused,abused
falling,loss,hurt!

Salam

Hold fast to the teachings of the prophets and their words and you will return to the guidance of the Lord.
Those who are guided by the Lord are always guided by the Lord and those who have allowed themselves to be led astray where never guided by anything on the face of this earth!

R. Soul is a communist listen to him and you have lost all hope in life!
