Yes. But whenever I ask it, Catholics won't respond to my question, but rather to some other issue that they say is REALLY behind my question.

It seems that often, when a Catholic asks a non Catholic if they have a question, or an opinion, it is really just the Catholic waiting for an opportunity to respond with their pre-recorded answer, even if it doesn't fit.

so, here, you want to take a shot?

Many non-Catholics, and even some cradle Catholics get confused and/or scandalized when they see some Catholics parading around statues of the Virgin, crowning it with flowers and throwing themselves down weeping in front of it, pledging total dedication. It does look frighteningly like worship/idolatry.

Since doing something that causes scandal is considered wrong, if not actually sinful in Catholicism, and such actions surly cause a great deal of scandal, and keep many people away from Catholicism and cause some who were raised in the faith to flee it, might it not be a greater tribute to the Virgin to honor her in another way?

Yes I do. I am getting the feeling that church teaching on purgatory has changed over time. From past history Purgatory was considered to be a place where Christians went for many years. However from what I understand now it is thought it may not actually even be a place and that the purging of sins may basically be instantaneous in the presence of God. Is this true?

As you can see from previous entries, this is probably not the place for serious religious discussion.

Yes, I've been wondering, when exactly can I get back my virginity? It's on a "loan" right now, with Satan.
