This is what I have so far:
There are many ways that the Bible relates to our lives today. Some examples are forgiveness and family relationships. The way that some of these ideas are displayed has changed, but the ideas themselves have remained the same. Forgiveness is usually shown today in the same way that it was shown in biblical times, although people may not be forgiven for the same things. Family relationships have changed from biblical times. The relationships within families are not as dramatic as they were in biblical times.

What should my last sentence be?

PLEASE HELP!

I used the word idea because:
1. That is the word the teacher used
2. This is not exactly what I believe, therefore, to me, this is not a fact, it is an idea

Okay, I just read your question about why folks got offended, so I had to read this question to see what the deal was....Did I miss something? There is nothing offensive here. Nothing in this paragraph mentions Catholicism. I honestly can help you end your paper:

Many of the values in the Bible relate to our lives today. Forgiveness is emphasized throughout the Bible, in Jesus telling his apostle Peter that you should forgive those who have sinned against you "no seven times, but seventy times seven," and also upon his crucifixion when He asked His father to forgive those who put Him to death, "for they know not what they do." Today many people try to live by this idea, although the transgressions against them may differ. The family structure in those days was more defined in that there are blueprints throughout the Bible stating the role of each family or household member. These days, due to the change in our economics, the lines are not as defined in many cases. There is valuable information contained within the Bible for everyday life that, whether used as a religious tool or a guide for family and societal living, many people could learn from and apply to their lives.

Hope this helps (I had to rewrite that paragraph just to get my thoughts in order). Good luck with your paper!
