He is the last pope listed in the prophecy of the popes. According to the prophecy, someone named Peter the Roman will preside over the church after this pope during a time of great tribulation and persecution. After which, Rome will be destroyed and judgement day will be upon us. What do you think about all this?

U may be right as the "Roof Area" for the Statues of the Papas at the Vatican will be all used up once they "Mount this One!" Then again, not even Christ knows when He will be sent back! John

I knwo the prophicey is from a Irishman known as Saint malikai.
First I am skeptical about prophecies from the Romans as I am Orthodox, but the last pope in this prophicey is Peter the Roman. I could see how some one could argue Rome may mean Holy Roman Empire which would be Germany or the City of Rome. The curent pope's Birth name is Joseph Alois Ratzinger and he Chose the name Benidict I don't see how he could be Peter the Roman. So there would be at least one more Pope. How ever I would not give much credit to end time prophies as Christ said that is not for us to know.

in no way heard the only regarding the black pope, yet i could rejoice if Cardinal Arinze is elected. the completed Malachy prophesy is a fabrication. In some years, this could be on par with the could twenty first Rapture. I mean, come on, in basic terms study a number of thsoe issues. They stretch them fairly some distance. it variety of feels that if somebody is given sufficient time, you ought to connect the word to very practically any prelate.

He's next to last. The next guy will end up being the Antichrist. Even if he is not Catholic. If he convinces everybody that he is God he'll be the perfect guy for the job.

Rome is not Mystery Babylon BTW, it's that great city, Jerusalem. Don’t worry, there is a new Jerusalem coming down from heaven.

I think all of that is utter balderdash, and a lot of people are going to be disappointed in a few years.
This end-times nonsense has been going on as long as humans had the imagination to come up with it. In my 28 years, I've seen "the end of the world" come and go at least five times. I'm not buying it.

I think it's utter nonsense. The Roman Catholic Church is still by far the largest Christian demonination in the world, and once Pope Ben is gone, another will be voted to replace him.

I think he'll be the last Pope because I think Bush will blow up the world before he ends his reign.
