I was just wondering which denomination of Islam are we talking about?

The Sunni version? Well, remember that there is the Wahabi and multitude of non-Wahabi versions there!

The Shi'a version? Again there are various factions over there, too!

Or are we talking about the Sufi version? Again there are various factions over there, too!

Or the Fatimid version? The Ismaeli version? The Dawoodi Bohra version ?

Or any one of all those multitudes of version of Islam that we have?

Now, considering that none of them agree with the others, what "One" leave alone "True" "Religion" are you all talking about?

Ma sala'amah, aziz.

Only one view of the world can be correct in every way, I'll call this "the truth".
Given the thousands of religions that have existed in the past, there's a several thousand to one chance of picking the right one. If you then look at the infinite possible number of alternative stories that could have existed instead, then the chance of the one you believe in being "the truth" is infinity to one, which is around zero.
So it doesn't matter what bunch of stories you believe, even if it's science and logic there's still no chance of it actually being the truth. It makes much more sense to accept that a story or idea as just a bunch words.

I think that HISTORICALLY Judaism and Christianity were True Religions. But Time has eroded their value systems.Jews deny the Messiah .Muslims call Jesus the Messiah. But the do not worship him.Christians accept Jesus as both the Messiah and God.I think that Islam is the true Religion Because we worship the Creator and accept Jesus as the Messiah.Their are more reasons than that but those are the fundamentals.

Islam was first true religion unto mankind from Abrahim A.s. being in the oneness with Allah. He was the only one that can be called the FRIEND OF THE LORD!

religion is used by god or spiritual powers to educate humans so they can learn to be good and pure.also to be respectfull to each other. kids allways need education to learn and to grow, and human beings needed religion to learn so they can be good beings, or behave like a real human bieng, loving, caring, respectfull. religion is a program of education from god. ones we follow 10 golden rules of MOSES we can get there faster,. otherwise OUR EGO will destroy our civilisation.if we wanna move to higher dimensions of light as a whole planet, we must know we are spirit inside 3d body. all religions r good , it is educational program for us and they all served us well. love them all and respect them all equally. good luck u all

Obviously, being Muslim, I would naturally think that Islam is the true, correct religion. But I am sure that is the case for everyone to think that their religion is correct. And I am 99.9% sure that everyone who is not Muslim will say "no", and everyone who is will say "yes". There is almost no point to this question, except for the "why" part; it is rhetorical, and from how I see it, can only lead to fighting and arguing and nothing productive. Let's see. Aha!

"Former" Muslim:

I have to say, for being a "former" Muslim, you know just about nothing about Islam! I think it's safe to assume that you were never really a former Muslim, given your lack of knowledge and abundance of ignorance in your answer. If you really are this so-called "Former Muslim", then you obviously converted for the wrong reasons. But, I don't even believe you. Even non-Muslims know what you say is false and fabricated. Yes, maybe the Qu'ran refers to "four corners of the earth", but that gives no indication that the earth is flat! The four corners of the world does not necessarily mean it is a definite flat square, in fact, the verse(s) you are referring to have nothing to do with the earth being literally flat. Your ignorance irks me, and I just turned 16. If someone gave me a sentence that included "the four corners of the world", I would know that they do not literally mean four distinctive corners of the world and are then implying it as being a square. That is foolish. Get your facts straight, you should even be ashamed for being a "Former Muslim". Yeah right.

Wolfman:

I am sure your ignorance and media-ridden brain along with the CAPS you used in your answer will get it removed. Have fun.

General Custer:

You make me laugh. Where did you find those, PoD? We Muslims have seen that so many times it's getting old. Stop trying to spread out-of-context quotes to non-Muslims, spreading the hate and ignorance and bigotry. You can't just quote a piece of a verse, or summarize it in YOUR OWN WORDS and then tell people it's the truth, the way it is put. Islam never instructs Muslims to kill non-Muslims. It does, however, permit Muslims to act in self-defense, but what you see/hear on the news or read in the newspaper only gives you one side of the story, always accusing Muslims and making them look like the culprit. Purposely showing just one side, and bashing the other with false information and accusations has successfully manipulated the minds of millions of viewers in the west and beyond and made them ignorant as a result. Has the bias, partial media gotten to you, too? Wait, that's a stupid question.

I see no way in Islam to truly satisfy God's justice. God cannot be a righteous and Holy God and just sweep offense away for some deed or deeds even suicide. There must be a punishment for offense or God is not just.

I guess by "true" you mean the rligion that will make you go to heaven, right?
if you are not a muslim then you should know that islam itself states that if you believe in god(Allah) and do good deeds you will go to heaven no matter what your religion is.
so in a way you could say there is no one "true" religion ,
the ways to heaven are many.
and about what (general custer) said, I would appreciate if people were more understanding of history before the talk bad about islam, the things he stated truly exist in the quran but it means to fight the infidels who fought and tortured muslims in mekkah , also as a muslim i do not consider jews and christians as infidels, so dont judge muslims by something that extremists manipulate and twist its meaning for their own purposes and to kill innocent people ,
I would be glad to talk to (general custer) to explain more about islam.

Haven't seen a religion that was entirely true yet . It always seem to have some good ethical substance carried by a pack of highly persuasive bovine fecal matter .

I don't think that any religion is true. The black man is god because he created everything in existence and have been here since the beginning of time in one form or another.
