Catholics burned what they believed to be faulty translations of the Bible, because they did not want the people to be misled. Not saying this was the right solution, but that is the reason they did it.
As for killing Christians who disagreed with them, Protestants did it too. Catholics don't have a monopoly on corruption.

When did the catholics burn the bible? I believe it was the protestants that burned bibles.Catholics were the force behind the Inquisition along with Queen Isabella of Spain.

That was evil as was the persecution and murder of Catholics by Protestants and others. The persecution of Catholics included the burning of Catholic Bibles and manuscripts and the execution of Catholics who smuggled in their sacramentals. we see the pillaged and vandalized old Catholic churches in protestant countries. I see the ruins made by Protestants of the Catholic churches,monasteries and shrines in Catholic Ireland.
All bigoted violence is wrong and evil but such done in the name of the divine is sacrilege and scandal as well

Better be careful. They'll e-mail each other to complain about your question and have it deleted. They just did this to me yesterday. No matter. The devestating question went around the world, and the damage to their beloved "church" was done. I even picked a best answer before it was deleted by the yahooanswers gods. Seems they hate the truth more than they do being exposed. In either case, they showed their true colors yesterday.
