I am betting that South Park based their episode on the LDS church and not vice versa since South Park came around a long while later.

i didn't see the episode- but i can tell you that it's joesph smith, it's not a new bible, but a completley seperate book that goes hand in hand with the bible. (it's accounts of things happening on the american continent)called the book of mormon- it was an idea that after the fall the area of where they were was missouri- however this was a scholars idea, not prophecy and not doctrine.
