Mike M, I've had personal experience with JW's and they aren't as nice as you think. You'd be surprised how critical they are of others.

Not really any. I am one – yet understand the religion is still growing. I never hold the Governing Body up as infallible in what they say. The Magazines have told us not to claim they are infallible. Some members do get a little caught up – but not because they are forced to.

Brainwashing defined by you is what? Teaching someone something you dont agree with?

Did your parents brainwash you when they taught you morals and values? Did teachers brainwash you when they taught you whatever version of history they were required to teach in school?

Like I said with that christian and terrorist question, putting extreme words next to the group you want to discredit doesnt do anything to help your argument. It only proves how desperate your argument seems to be.

wow based on all the thumbs downs on anyone that actually supports the JW's on this there must be a lot of JW haters out there. Is that the tolerance and respect twds others some of you like to claim you never get but expect from the people you bash and criticize?

Trinitarians frequently complain about Jehovah's Witnesses when they are shown that the Athanasius creed is unbiblical.

I personally think that they go to the people that have no knowledge of what the bible tells them, then they tell them all of the "good, nice" things about their beliefs, and since the individual that they have chosen to "capture" does not know much about what the bible really says, they are then brainwashed cause they do not know better.

I think this is an offensive question. I've known several JW's in my life and they are no more brainwashed than you or me.

I think many people resent the preaching done by JW's. I don't like it either, but that hardly means the people are brainwashed.

it is amazing that Jehovah ´s witnnesses don´t use "go to hell" to make people go to preach and assist to meeting.

they can make 7 million people take of their time to preach the good news without the fear but moving to act by love to people....

Amazing also that all JWS know what date Jesus Christ died for our sins...and what Jesus Christ will do in the near future after Armageddon with this planet under his rulership.

and also do not requiere tithing ....

The most common one is isolating new members from the family and non-believers.

(Romans 12:1-3) Sacred service with your power of reason. And quit being fashioned after this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over, that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For through the undeserved kindness given to me I tell everyone there among you not to think more of himself than it is necessary to think; but to think so as to have a sound mind, each one as God has distributed to him a measure of faith.

Same as Christian. It has worked since 65 AD. It worked even better after the Inquisition.

none, this is a really offensive and insulting question.

I have Jehovah's Witnesses all around me in my neighborhood, and they are the greatest neighbors I could imagine. And no, they don't recruit me or ask me to believe their doctrine. But they do have faith beyond what most people do, and I give them great credit for that. I have no doubt I will see them in Heaven some day.
