There used to be just one big church called the Catholic Church. It wasn't until the Middle Ages when Martin Luther rebelled against them and prompted other groups to do so as well that it became divided.

But, we all do things different ,for example, Baptists believe in baptism by immersion only, and Methodists sprinkle as do the Catholics, I believe. So many of the other churches think you can loose your salvation, and us IFB know that's hogwash, so you see how it will not work? One day in Heaven, we will have be together, that is, those of us are saved, just cause you're in church does not make you saved.

Nobody can agree on anything and they nitpick over the small details of the way they practice. As the first poster suggested, read through this forum and you'll see why.

for the same reason there is more than one car company, telephone company.
Jesus is the center of salvation. the preaching of his shed blood for the forgivness of all sins should be the only focus.the preaching of the gospel(good news)to the ends of the earth to everyone is the prime mission.this is called doctorine.the meathod to accomplish this sacred goal using the infailable word of God is called "denomination"

because humans are divisive...
1 Cor. 1: 10I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. 11My brothers, some from Chloe's household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 12What I mean is this: One of you says, "I follow Paul"; another, "I follow Apollos"; another, "I follow Cephas[a]"; still another, "I follow Christ."
13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into[b] the name of Paul? 14I am thankful that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15so no one can say that you were baptized into my name. 16(Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don't remember if I baptized anyone else.) 17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
God recognizes only one church...

because one decides jesus drank wine...the other doesn't...etc they just believe in different things but yet have the same core beliefs in essence. people just can't agree on things, especially religion. someone gets offended...then they leave to do their own thing.

You would have to ask your creator. He gave the data he set the standard, I guess he must know.
