You are not stupid, you are a kid. Heck, I've done like 2 dumb things today and I am 38. You will make silly choices your entire life. But you're mom loves you, and I bet that somehow it can be fixed. Offer to pay for the damage. Offer to help fix it. Let your mom know that you have learned a lesson. It might be informative. I would like to know how to fix a dumbwaiter. I used to ride up and down in ours when I was a kid. Yeah, we eventually broke it. My uncle boarded it up so we couldn't play in it anymore. My 11 yr. old son dropped a board on my foot about an hour ago. He wasn't paying attention. I now have a badly cut toe and 2 broken toes. I still love the absent minded little pagen. At least no one was hurt on your mess up. Calm down, no one is perfect. It will be ok.

There's 2 things you can do. Either you can get some screws and try to put it back together as best you can. But sooner or later someone will notice.
Or... don't say WHO was in the dumbwaiter, say you were curious how much stuff would fit in, the rope slipped, you're VERY sorry. There will be a punishment, but it'll be less than if you put it back together and get caught.
For what it's worth, yes you screwed up letting her get into the dumbwaiter BUT you handled it very well getting her out. If you were my kid I'd be proud of you for that part. So don't feel TOO bad about all this, k?

Go on line and look up dumbwaiters.com or something similar and try to find someone who can fix it. Gather the information and when the smoke clears with your mom ease the information to her and give up some allowance to pay for it or do some chores to work off the payment of it. Give her a card and say you are sorry, please forgive you. Do something, be creative stop beating yourself up over it, it's already broken so try to get help to fix it. Cheer up. Best to you.

i admire Cheetos. i ought to consume Cheetos for breakfast, lunch and dinner. that's the hardship. Cheetos are loaded with energy and you will munch sufficient energy in an hour to overload your gadget for each week. Why is each thing scrumptious fattening? Oh, nicely, back to the celery and carrot sticks!

You and your friend should make it up to your parents by doing all of the chores in the house for at least 1month. It was a dumb thing to do but you are a kid & your parents love you and will forgive you. Good Luck.

Offer a sincere apology to your mom then let her know that you're willing to take whatever consequence comes with the stupid decision you made. Most importantly, learn from your mistake and don't beat yourself up about it.

You have to let your mom get over being angry with you. Tell her you understand that what you did was a mistake, and that you are very sorry that it's broken. But let her be angry because she is going to be, she will however calm down and then you can talk more about it.

what should you do? first learn from your mistake, Second pay for the repair in some way shape or form, Third feel horrible about what you did, it was not smart, do not dwell on it for too long though.
Good luck
