Tell this person immediately! State it in a very calm, mature, non aggressive tone. Be brief but give examples of the behavior. If this is someone you wish to or must maintain a relationship be sure to tell them positive things about their personality but, don't make excuses for the bad behavior!

If they get upset STAY calm and kind but, don't back down! Just end it with a comment letting them know you are sorry they are upset but, you knew the right thing to do was to let them know that XYZ was a big problem for you so that you can be comfortable with them.

If they're being rude, either it's deliberate or they lack the
subtlety to understand they should be more diplomatic.
The direct approach is usually the best,if you can avoid being
rude in return even better. With some people there's no point
and it's better just to walk away, depending on the situation.

Just tell them that they are being rude and that you do not like it.

Tell them straight out that they are rude. People need direct comments once in a while.

i suggest that you be honest, and tell them point blank.

often times, the only way people realize that they are being rude is if someone (i.e. you) tell them that they are doing so, directly...

Skirting around the issue will only prolong the behavior, and leave you frustrated.

"Excuse me, your rudeness offends me."
"We are not amused." (quoting Queen Victoria)
"I can't concentrate when you are being so rude."
"I know you're just fooling, but you're really offending me."
It depends on the circumstances, and you didn't provide any context/background info.

Just say something to the effect of " What you are saying bothers me. Please stop." Be direct, but don't be rude back.
