If she is paying - what college does it matter?
Get serious - graduate then transfer to Harvard or larger university and get a masters in subject - then take care of her, after you start your company.
Your goal is an education and a career and life on your terms - not working at KFC, living with your parents. Or unhappy married with four kids - focus honesty on your goals.
You may need to explain to your mother all your feeling, as it sounds like she is not on same page - so you better keep communicating with your parents. She can't read your mind - even if you think she can. Also she is scared because of all the horror stories, of college, she has heard as you've grown. Calm her fears, please.

When you say Southeastern I thought you were talking about Nova (NSU?) and not this one: http://www.seuniversity.edu/
Recently an article was published about how many christian colleges are not accredited (for example a nursing degree from a non-accredited university is worthless at most hospitals) and if you try to transfer, you'd have to start form the beginning (like Pensacola Christian College). Many Christian colleges swear up and down they are accredited by this organization or that one, but the ones they list are not real or carry no weight. The best way to find this out, is to call UCF, and ask them if you transfer there from Southeastern, will the credits you earn at Southeastern transfer over. If they say no, then southeastern isn't real, and you'd be wasting a college education. Your mom may WANT what's best for you, but she may not DO what's really best for you.
That being said, if you've been Christian home schooled, there may be some academic facts you are confronted with that are widely accepted but you may not be aware of. If you go to UCF, you may have some catching up to do. Now is as good a time as any to get prepared. One thing is for certain, get a good SAT Score. Without that, everything else becomes that much more difficult.
Good luck.

Oh wow. I see where you are coming from, but if mom's paying the bill you'll have to go where she's going to send you. Why don't you start checking out your financial aid options so when you turn 18 you'll have a plan of action. I am pretty sure for some loans/grants you will have had to had lived on your own for 2 years so your parent's income won't be factored into the situation. Meanwhile, do all the research you can on SE...does your mom realize that so many Christian colleges are actually CRAZY with drug and alcohol use/abuse? I know because my nieces went to one and it was worse than the state university! I think there is some website where you can pull up the crime rates for each college campus, and it will give you a detailed report of what kind of crimes went on (violent vs. non-violent). Also try explaining to your mom that she has already given you the best Christian education by home schooling you--you will take all that knowledge with you when you get out into the real world. Good luck.

I went to Baylor University (big Baptist university in Texas) for 2 1/2 years, and the place SUCKS. My parents wanted me to go there so I could live at home (MAJOR mistake), and also so I'd be "protected" (go figure). What they didn't seem to know was that unless you're going to law school or into medicine, the place is a hole, and one gigantic church service. I escaped when I changed majors to something that Baylor couldn't accommodate beyond a certain point (computer science - a new thing back in the 70s), and had to transfer. I eventually graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.S. in computer science, and an EDUCATION, not my M.R.S.!!!
There is no way I would send a child of mine to any sort of church-run school unless it was the likes of Harvard!

I would go there for a year or two, and then transfer over to UCF and then major in whatever you want to do. It's actually a very good thing to attend a local community college and get your basic classes over with (math, science, social sciences, english, etc.) and then transfer to UCF and focus all your time on your major.
Plus you have a better chance of getting accepted to a big university if you've already attended a small college for a few years. It gets you prepared for the college life. ;-)

Go to the school she wants you to go to until you turn 18. Then apply for a transfer to the college of your choice. Legally she can't make you do anything once you hit majority.
However, if you're relying on her to fund your education, you'd better be ready to take on student debt because I'm sure she won't dig the idea of paying for you to get a non-Christian education.
Do yourself a favor and explore some biology, geology, and cosmology classes while you're at a secular university. you don't have to become an atheist, but the mind-opening effect is heady and exciting.

I know it sounds hard,
she wants the best for you. Just stay dedicated to what you believe and your truth.
You dont state your religious beliefs, but one of the best things I can say is get your education and get out. If going to a christian school bugs you , but they have your major and everything you need academically then just do you and get out. I hear its not a christian school, all the better, you may learn about diffrent ppl from yourself and how others exist. That is a wonderful experience.

Try Hyles-Anderson College. You might be interested in a school like this one. Tell your Mom to read her Bible and honestly ask herself if Southeastern is a Christian college; because it is not. Fornication and homosexuality run rampant at that place. And their teachings on creation are more like evolution.

Southeastern Lousiana University? Or is there another one?
SELU is both secular and religious, I can assure you. Tomorrow night on NOVA, an SELU professor will be featured.

When you are 18, you are an adult and can go to what school you want. Maybe you can talk to your mom about the why you want to go to the other school, Like better classes for the career you envision.
