I met a guy in Houston who I want to date, I live in California and plan on moving to Texas for job promotion. This guy is my age and he happens to be a cop. I feel a little scared because of the reputation that cops are given about being cheaters ...etc Are they all cheaters or is it just like any other profession?

My husband is the nicest, most honest and upstanding individual you would ever want to meet. We've been together for 7 years...married 5. Just like everyone else there are good and bad cops. Give the guy a chance. Don't avoid him because of his job! However, do take some time to evaluate yourself. Are you strong enough to handle all the worry and fear that sometimes goes w/ being involved w/ a cop!?

Girl let me tell you the rumors that you hear are true all cops cheat...I dated the police for about 1 year and have been best friends with two other policemen keep in mind that the 2 that are my best friends are major cheaters they are both married with kids but cheat like crazy...I would super careful about that situation my ex broke my heart into a million pieces you just have no clue I would never dreamed that he would have cheated on me...If I was you I would keep my guard up about the police they are fun to date but even worse when they cheat you find out you break it off and then after words they gotcha when they see you out and you get my drift be careful sweetie but they all cheat

Well,sorry to say this,but yea my dad was a police officer and I'm the result of a an affair. But in all reality you can't blame it on being a police officer or the job,but in all honesty it's about the man.If the man is a doctor or police officer he is going to cheat. If he quits his profession all while being faithful through that entire time and then he becomes a baker and cheats with his co-worker you can't say all bakers cheat. It's just how a person is it's their nature pretty much. If you become a police officer are you going to cheat?...it's the man himself who cheats not the man in the uniform.

no not all cops cheat...thats like saying all blacks play basketball. there are a lot good cops out there, but we get the bad rap for the bad ones. you would have to be pretty absent-minded to think because a cop is working hours he/she is cheating. same way with they pull someone over, individuals try to "bribe" cops in sooooo many ways, and the good ones don't let it happen. so no, NOT ALL cops cheat. i kinda got sidetracked here, but you get my point. not all cops are cheaters, they are working hard to pay bills just like everyone else.

Don't judge based on job. Get to know the guy personally. Honestly, I believe that in most cases, cheaters can be spotted before hand. If he's had many previous relationships, that should be a red flag. Don't turn a blind eye if he starts flirting while he's with you, talk to him about it, and if needed, take action.

I don't believe in any form of stereotyping. So... NO. I believe that the myth of cheating cops is just being perpetuated by people who have nothing else to do. It's like saying that all gardeners in California are Hispanic and all drivers (Especially cab drivers) in New York are rude pigs.

Just like any other profession, they may or may not be cheaters. One cannot generalize. However, statistics show that men cheat 80+% of the time, and women cheat 40+% of the time. So, there you go. Who's cheating whom?

My step-dad is a cop and he's been cheating on my mom for 2 years with a BP Gas attendant. I don't know if all cops cheat, but there does seem to be a pattern...... But it can't be ALL cops, give the guy a chance

i never heard of cops being cheaters in relationships... most cops i know love their families and would do anything for them. just because they are cops doesnt make them cheaters. there are probably as many cheaters in any job as there are for cops.

A cop is the worst person you can get involved with. Not only do they cheat but if you find out they are cheating you disappear. A year later they find you in a 50 gallon drum floating in the Atlantic Ocean.
