He could have a bunch of things...is the diarrhea bloody? If so might be Irritable Bowel Disease. If he has other symptomes like yellow-ish skin/eyes, pain in the liver area....could be Hep A. Could also be a protozoal infection.

The bottom line is that no one on Yahoo! Answers will be able to tell you what it is. He needs to see a doctor and get tests done.

He should get a colonscopy. Any change in bowel habits is nothing to mess with. I'm surprised his doctor hasn't done this test. He could have several things - crohn's disease, colitis, IBD, infection within the digestive system. Get an answer - See a gastroentologist. (Specializes in digestive system)

Be careful his blood pressure doesn't get too low. With the dehydration plus the blood pressure meds, it could drop. I'm sorry he's so sick. He should have gone to the doc 3 weeks ago.

Sounds like Salmonella. I had a friend that got this and took quite a while to recoup. As he gets well, be sure to eat "soft" foods. After "the trots" for that long the muscles down there tighten and could cause tearing with a firm movement. This happened to my buddy and it has taken a lot of pain and surgery to repair.

Needs to be in the hospital for tests. Watch for dehydration. Rapid weight loss from this will mess up electrolytes, potassium level and you are not absorbing the proper nutrients in your body.

Ask the doctors to check for cancer or tumors in the intestines. Make sure they do a full check no just one side

One word: water. A bunch of it. It will help clear out the digestive system and the bad bacteria which is in it.
