I read this story about a boy who came here illegally when his mother sent for him. The boy came here when he was about 10. When he came, he americanized himself. He went to public school, learned English and made friends, dated girls and lived the life of an average American teen after he learned the language. He then completed something most illegal immigrants do not in their lifetime: he graduated high school. He planned to go to college but can't due to his immigration status. It said that he is now like an average American. In addition, he doesn't fit ANY of the illegal immigrant stereotypes. It said that he speaks fluent English, does not commit crimes, is smart and doesn't hate this country. Most of all, it said that he isn't and NEVER has been on public assistance (his family is here legally and work normal jobs and support him so he doesn't need it). So he is kind of just here. Do you think he should stay? If so, is there a way that he can?

He needs to get some help from an attorney or keep applying for the lottery or being that he is Americanized may end up marrying a citizen that will aide in his ploy.Maybe join the military and they may aide him in getting through. Many Illegals are hard working honest people like anyone else , but they are still Illegal. They need to work on way to become legal through the process of applying for a visa and the rest of the hoops we all had to jump to be here. It is worth it.

We will hear thousands of sad stories such as this. And, really this is the government's fault. They chose not to clamp down, turn a deaf ear, and now they want the illegals votes. What a sham that middle America has to enforce illegal immigration with little support from the government. However, an illegal immigrant is illegal. To get citizenship people have to file papers, study American history/Constitution, slap down $650 process fees. The truth is middle America has been seething over a decade or more because illegals cost us over billions of dollars largely for for food, education and health care. We have wondered how do they do it, but we didn't think we were paying for it. Americans also have to be concerned about being out sourced. We all have to follow the rules.

This story has been told time after time on this forum, maybe those who say that first risking your child's by illegally crossing is harmful to your children, and then as that same children becomes a adult there is a second price to be paid, is not a crime should rethink the damage they are doing to their children. I do feel some sadness for those children, but feel no responsibly for the situation or feel I should do anything to rectify it. All any kind of amnesty for these people will bring is more demands for more amnesty. Seven night a week you can watch as many sneak across the border with there children, maybe you need to start a program that warns the illegals not to bring their children.

I think it's sad and a shame that's such a bright kid would have to get deported to a country who dosen't know. If I were in his shoes, I'd be upset at my parents for not telling me I was here illegally. But the sad truth is, he's here illegally and we have laws that people must follow and respect. I think I would help him try to get legalized the legal way.

so he is just here illegally, now he is an adult and he realizes he is here illegally. why has he not done anything to adjust his status? in his doing nothing to rectify his status isn't he perpetuating his parents crime? isn't he a criminal now for remaining here knowing he is here illegally? i just answered a girls question about having her fiance come here legally. the problem is he is here illegally and was told by ICE to leave and now he is ineligible for reentry to the U.S. for 10 years. i just looked this up for her as i did not know the finer points of our immigration and deportation laws. this even though he is leaving at this point on his own dollar, but the rub is he was told by ICE to do so which makes his illegal status a matter of record. my advice to all of them is to go back to their country of origin before they get caught as if any of them has been caught before they will not be allowed to ever come back to the U.S because they are now a felon. unfortunately they are not in status and as such cannot adjust there status except from their country of origin.

What part of ILLEGAL don't you understand? If a kid was brought here by his parents, he is still an illegal alien. If he wants to become legal, there are things he needs to do. It is not automatic and it shouldn't be!

Besides, because of the parent's criminal actions, taxpayers have been paying for the support of that kid all his life. The is money we should not have had to pay! Sorry but I have no sympathy for any of the 30+ million illegal alien criminals.

Sure, the kid is in a bad situation caused by his parents. But, it's not my fault! They are breaking the law and should not be rewarded. When someone breaks the law they have to suffer the consequences!

Yes. There is no reason to make exceptions that would only encourage more illegals to come here. Though, how it worked out that the child of a legal resident couldn't be brought in legally, I wonder. The law is pretty liberal when it comes to re-uniting families.

Our Laws are not so Perfect, But many people have so much faith in this crappy law on immigration. There should be some exceptions when dealing with illegal immigration. some as i said many times should receive a chance to be legalized.

He does fit one illegal immigrant stereotype...he is illegal....and by the law, that is enough....
I did find a new way that he can stay though...all he has to do is run to his home country with a teacher, they will give him anything he wants then...
