How much are you paying for gas now? Here in north central Louisiana it's $2.89 (that's with the 3 cents discount with at WalMart with their card). Most places are $2.96.

How are we suppose to live with prices like this?

Eric, I know what you are talking about because we live 18 miles from the nearest town that has a gro. store or our Drs. and etc. Also that is how how far my husband has to drive every day to go to work. So yes we do know the CRUNCH well!!! Love living in the country, but...........

I hear it may go up to $4.00 a gallon before next year. We'll pay it because we have no choice but they are pricing themselves out of business. You're going to see more and more small electric cars soon because of it. I would have one now if there was a reasonably prices small rechargeable car on the market that was readily available.

I've got one of those Wal-Mart cards too and I'm thankful for the 3 cents break.

My wife works 21 miles from home. She travels 42 miles a day. At present prices and 23 mpg it's costing her about $6.00 a day in fuel to drive back and forth to work. Next year it will be $8.00. I know very well that there are rechargeable electric vehicles out there that would easily serve her purposes and wouldn't look like a glorified motorcycle with extra wheels. Most people don't even travel that far every day.

$2.99 in MN, though I use a lot of gas coupons from a local supermarket chain (Cub Foods) and that helps a lot.

How are we supposed to live... well, whenever possible, drive less. Carpool more, or invest in a bicycle. The real killer this winter from my standpoint isn't going to be the gas prices, but the rising heating costs. Gas I could reduce if I had to. Gotta have heat to live.

The messed up thing about the gas right now. The small town I live in is that we are paying more then California for gas.... Go figure....I am appalled that the town I live in is doing this. Minimum wage is around 5.00 an hour...I wish it was still the sixty's people would do something......

I'm paying $3.29 here in the North (Ohio, to be exact). Nasty. Best friend lives 2.5 hours away, and I have to drive a lot for work. Work reimburses, but I have to see my friend - he's like air or food for me, and it's getting awfully expensive to be with him once in a while.

It's $3.26 in Long Island, New York.

I heard it's gonna stay up here for a while. Absolutely ridiculous. It's gonna get bad enough that everyone's gonna HAVE to switch over to those hybrid's just to afford to get to work everyday!
