I think that the whole problem is that others think that because someone prays for Mary to intercede, we are worshiping Mary. They don't understand that we pray to the Saints to intercede. A Saint can act like an intermediary to God on our behalf. People think that because Catholics have statues of Mary, St. Joseph, Jesus, and other saints, we are worshipping idols. I don't have a problem with statues and pictures if I feel that it brings me closer to God. I have pictures of my family all over my house because I love them and I want to keep them in my heart. Same thing with pictures and statues at church.
P.S. Don't worry about what others think. This is between you, God, and the Virgin Mary.

I'd say you're "almost" a believer. For one thing, Mary is not the one interceding for us. Romans 8:26-27 clearly says that it's the job of the Holy Spirit, not Mary's. Another thing is, how can Mary be the mother of God? He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. God came from no one but everyone came from God. Jesus never called Mary His mother in the Bible. He just referred to her as 'woman'.

I can tell you my experience.
I grew up Catholic and am no longer as I am now an Evangelical Christian.
Much of the stuff that is taught in Catholic faith is tradition rather than what is stated in the Bible including the Marian Movement
( that she was an EVER virgin), transubstantiation, praying for the dead, the Mass and indulgences. NONE of these is stated in the Bible.

Why would I need to pray to Mary or any of the Saints IF I can go directly to Jesus?

I sincerely hope that this helps you in your understanding.

I wouldn't say you were an unbeliever. I would tell you that you were in error. The Bible makes it clear that the only way to the Father is through the Holy spirit of Jesus Christ. Not to dis on Mary, she did lead a significant and a privileged life. But she was a human just like you or I. She is not God or ever will be..

Don't pray to Mary, Moses, Elijah or Noah. This consulting with the dead is called Necromancy and conjuring the spirits of the dead to predict or influence future events is an abomination to God. Mediums were destroyed by Saul and Josiah and the practice of this defiled the land and was described as prostitution. God's people are to trust God in times of distress and not resort to other gods.

If you are asking that question, then you already know the answer.

Mary was a woman, a wife, and a mother of several children. True, God called her blessed. But that is all. GOD the Father is the one you should pray to.

Remember the ten commandments, the first of which says, "You will have no other gods before Me." (Exodus 20)

The trinity is a faux coaching and Jesus is the son of God as he stated and Mary become his mom, the holy spirit is the flexibility of God given to whoever he desires for his glory, anyone who says that Jesus is God or Mary the mother of God make God to be a liar and the Bible says that God would not lie.

I am a Christian althou not a Catholic.I dont have a problem with it as she is the mother of "God the son" the second person of the trinity. She was also hailed by the angel as "full of grace". I think we need to leave our divisions up to God and stop judging one another on our differences.Concentrat on what we have in common, Jesus.

The Bible does say Jesus is the only intercessor between God and man God uses Angels to send messages to man.....but we are not to worship the Angels or pray to them.
.the Bible says...Maybe people don't feel worthy to approach Jesus is why they go to another person....but remember this...Jesus is the most compassionate, tender, understanding , caring, one you could ever approach...and I think Mary would say, ask my Son and do as he tells you to do....She would direct you to Jesus....Mary had to see him as God herself but she is not God...He is divine, she was human...So don't feel you can't go to your great God with any need you have, Mary would send you to him....She worships him... But since Catholics pray to saints it is not big deal to pray to Mary....Does the Bible says to pray to saints???
Look at it this way....When the disciples said Jesus here is your mother....he had to show his God head at this time and said.."Who is my mother?? All are my mother, brothers and sisters that follow me....So he was showing her place right then....He respected her but did not make her a God like he was....There is a difference in their status.....

I certainly wouldn't. I'm a Roman Catholic, and know plenty of believers (including myself) who pray the rosary. How does honoring Christ's mother make one a "nonbeliever"? And if you're praying at all, you probably wouldn't be classified as a "nonbeliever", anyway.
