You can take responsibility for what you borrowed
and be honest tell her what happened and apologize for it.
Make it up to her and buy her a new one.
Also understand that if she gets mad at you
She has the right to do so. But let her know that you are truly sorry and will replace it.
Wouldn't you want her to do the same if it was the other way around? Honestly is the key to any relationship including friendship.
Mean while look harder for it and see if you can find it somewhere.
What ever happens I wish you the best.
:)

You borrowed it, were trusted with it and you lost it. You either buy her a new one before you see her and tell her you are sorry you lost hers or you tell her you are sorry and follow up with a new one as quickly as possible. We all have to take responsibility for what we do. It's yours to replace it.

Buy two new flashdrives for the one you lost. Apologies and offer her both, if she is still your friend she will keep only one. Let this be a hard lesson for you. Good true friends are hard to find. Best of luck.

Don't you think you always need to return something in as good as or better shape than it was in when you borrowed it? In this case it means buying her a new one and owning up to the loss.

That you lost it and that you're going to replace it as soon as possible. Expect her to get mad at you though, after all it's only a normal reaction to this type of situation. Good Luck!

I'll tell her the truth and ask her to give me more time to look for it but if she needed that thing urgently you have no choice but to get a new one for her. Since both of you needed that thing, you have to get two new ones, one for you and one for her.

Before you see her you need to buy a new one to replace it. Tell her the truth, apologise profusely and give her the new one.

That you lost it. Or misplaced it and you don't remember where. Offer to replace it.
