there are no lower abdominals. it is physiologically impossible to target part of a muscle. muscles either contract as a whole or they do not contract at all.

leg lifts, flutter kicks, etc. do not target the so called lower abs. muscles of the hip flexors that lie deep underneath the lower portion of the rectus abdominis are performing most of the work. that is why people say they "feel" them working and why it is not wise to judge the mechanics of an exercise by the amount of localized fatigue that is felt.

exercises that utilize the full range of motion of a muscle are always optimum for stimulation

Get an exercise ball.

Start from the sitting position, then lean back slightly so the ball rolls a little bit (keep your feet on the ground). Then roll back into sitting upright again. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

You're welcome :)

do v-snaps. they are like push ups but you start with your legs straight out, and arms straight over your head, then u bring your legs and upper body up at the same time and touch, or at least reach for your toes. try to keep your upper body as straight as possible. also, make sure ur shoulders lift off the floor.

In the standard crunch position, do crunches but with your arms fully extended above your head. Try it, you'll feel it in your lower abs.

Do situps instead, they're a lot more effective.
