i do that, too. i think i'm a little happier when i'm kinda depressed, if that makes any sense... 'i'm only happy when it rains...'! plus whenever i AM happy, i always expect something to come along and ruin it anyway, so it may as well me ME that does the ruining before anything else has a chance to! : )
btw, it's kinda funny how someone would call YOU dumb and spell it incorrectly! ; )

I suggest you see the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?" It is a documentary about quantum physics and gives one a lot of food for thought. There is a section that addresses this very issue - how we continually get trapped in the same patterns and behaviors that ultimately make us unhappy. It also provides some tips on how to be more conscious of this and change those behaviors. They call it "creating your own reality".
You could also try starting out with saying positive affirmations to yourself every day. Whatever it is you need to do to start retraining your brain to break these patterns of self-destruction. Could be something as simple as "I am happy today", even if you don't believe it at first, say it every morning to yourself in the mirror a few times, and eventually it will work.

Guilt, Religions live off of it. The whole deal with the afterlife is that we need an institution to completely define our morality. That morality is, at times, completely contradictory to our human nature. This is the plan of the institution to try to make us feel unworthy of their kindness from providing this unattainable morality. By feeling unworthy, two situations arise. One is the deep disdain for the actions that led to this event (guilt) and the other is the paranoia that this situation will be everlasting (fear). When you put these two feelings into people you have completely brainwashed them. The institution will have their brainwashed patrons congregrate to congratulate each other on exactly how unpious everyone is, but not poor, for everyone must donate to the institution.

You are probably more comfortable with life when life is rough. Sounds weird, but maybe you had a rough childhood, so it just feels right when there's conflict. It happens to a lot of people. Certain people crave or create drama because it's most familiar.
Try to stay focused on your dreams and dont get caught up in the dysfunction. Good luck

lol you sound like me
I am only at my best when I have something to worry about
and then when I am happy , I am wondering what is around the corner
I am getting better now though , trying to just deal with each moment and enjoy it for what it is
I am guessing you are a sensitive type who likes to help others ... and likes to feel needed
so when everything is running smoothly , you are a little lost
try and find other areas in which you feel needed ... maybe do some volunteering

But life is like that. Humans always keep on changing the focus/ attention to the next / new situation. They just don't keep stuck to the one moment. And of course change is the law of the universe, it self. And it is always changing.
So do not worry. You are NOT ALONE. Every body is like that. But some people like you think about it and some just do not recognise such aspects of life.

I am not sure but I used to sabotage relationships the same way. Just enjoy the good and try to go with the flow. Relax and allow things to happen.

Happiness...... " Is Always based on Happenings ! "
When you do not have .... Those HAPPENINGS...... then you are Not Happy!
Real JOY..... comes from Inside being CONTENT.... with All that YOU have been Blessed with today!
Today I trained a Girl who came from Cuba three years ago. She went to School and Learned English.....! She speaks better than.... Some Americans.....!
She told me today, that when She sends Money to her Mother in Cuba..... it takes $125 to Send $100 [Net] to Cuba.
Castro takes The AMERICAN FUNDS..... Keeps $20 for his trouble.... and gives her Mother... Only $80.... IN CREDITS.... Not in Cash !
NOW..... Please tell me ..... HOW ROUGH IT IS ON YOU..... TODAY?
Thanks for Asking ! RR

Probably because you are not comfortable in a upbeat positive role. You might be more familiar with playing the role of a depressed person. We all like to stick with the familiar. Over and over again, people will unknowingly sabotage their success to go back to familiar territory.
