tylenol has some properties that reduces swelling.

Heat relaxes the muscle, and ice reduces swelling. You may want to alternate between the two for several hours to see how you feel.

Tylenol is a pain reliever, but Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory which can help reduce swelling as well. Prescription strength ibuprofen is anywhere from 800-1000 mg every 4-6 hours. That equates to 4 Advil or Motrin (did this after I had my wisdom teeth out). Just remember to take it with food or milk since it can give you an upset stomach.

When my husband had his wisdom teeth out, he noticed that he swelled more if he was talking or eating foods that required a bit of chewing, so try to stay quiet & eat soft foods for another few days.

Massaging your cheek may help, or the pressure could dislodge a blood clot, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Hope you feel better soon.

Get 2 small bags of frozen peas, wrap them in a kitchen towel and place them on your cheeks to reduce swelling. If you don't want to keep holding them up to your face you can get a hooded sweatshirt and stick them inside the hood and when you tie the sweatshirt closed they will stay in place. I kept them on all day long after my surgery and I had no swelling.

It's going to take a couple of days - cold reduces swelling, not heat
